I have the unlimited data plan for $50 each month yet cox reduced my gigablast plan to 50m download 3m upload which is completely inadequate, for 90 days because they think I am HARMING others connection in the neighborhood
I purchased the unlimited plan because I need to use a lot of data and you are saying I'm actually not allowed to do that? the person also in a insulting manner say he could not remove the limit nor could his fu**** supervisor. just because they see my usage as not appropriate they punish me? and btw they formally downgraded my service so it's not me "feeling like" it is throttling. anyone has the same problem?812Views0likes2CommentsI have the unlimited data plan for $50 each month yet cox reduced my gigablast plan to 50m download 3m upload which is completely inadequate, for 90 days because they think I am HARMING others connection in the neighborhood.

All cabling has been replaced, I am direct connected to my Netgear AC1600 modem and currently pay Cox for 300 Mbps Download speed. When I run a speed test while I am in Amazon Workspace, the download speed is ~77.9. When I am outside AWS, it's 325. I have to use AWS for work and I am unable to work. The latency is absolutely unbearable and many times my screens completely black out before coming back on, at which time the security protocol pops on indicating I've been disconnected and now am reconnected. I have gone through an update on AWS and corporate IT can find no reason for the latency or connect issues on this corporate laptop from their standpoint. Please help me resolve this problem. I am at a loss at where else to look to resolve the problem. Thank you!997Views0likes4CommentsInternet Speeds
I have Cox Gigablast (Coaxial) bundle with contour TV (7 cable boxes) and contour voice (phones work on the 1.9ghz) with the panoramic gateway but I disabled the wifi on the gateway because its signal is not good at all for my 7000 square foot home and I connected a Luxul XWR 3150 V2 AC-3100 Dual - Band router that has 4 external antennas, which I bought 2 days ago with the Cat5e cable that came with the router. On the 5ghz wifi, I only get maximum of 450 mbps, 2 feet away from the router. Shouldn't I be getting atleast 800 or 900 mbps? I understand 1000 mbps is very unlikely but I am not satisfied with 450 mbps. Cox changed the spiltters in August. I have tried the speed tests on multiple different channels and 450 mbps is the highest I've got. I've power cycled the gateway and the router and multiple speed tests. The DNS is set to Google's Public DNS. Nothing on my network is a old that would slow down my speeds. The coaxial cable is as tight and I've had others make sure the connection is tight. How can I get close to the speeds I am paying for?1.4KViews0likes3CommentsArris SB8200 Docsis 3.1 GigaBlast No Blue Lights Up or Down
Called Cox for new internet options. Told me I was grandfathered in at 150. Quoted me 300 and Giga. Call ended. I had a Netgear 3.0 modem / router combo that worked fine. I buy a 3.0 modem and a mesh router to increase my WIFI area. I try to get it calibrated only to find out I have a work order for GigaBlast speeds and my 3.0 equipment is unusable. So as a patient person I go and swap my 3.0 for a 3.1 modem costing me more money. I call to get the 3.1 calibrated by Cox and it shows all green lights 3.0, no blue lights for Arris SB8200 Docsis 3.1 GigaBlast No Blue Lights Up or Down. Speeds are 250 down and 20 up and that is before and after a modem factory reset with ONLY my laptop plugged in. Tried with a desktop as well with the same result. - Called and asked was GiagBlast and Docsis 3.1 avilable in my area and told it was - Forced to GigaBlast without request and told I can't return to my original speed - Asked me to upgrade my equipment to take advantage of GigaBlast but when equipment is installed it I only get 3.0 and low speeds - Called from 10am to Midnight and text chat too. After dealing with 6 different people and a whole day wasted I still got nowhere - Best of all I was told no work could be done while there was an "outage" in my area. One that lasted from 2pm to 7pm, and then another that started at 12am forecast to end at 6am. Anybody else have these issues and if so how were they resolved??? - Do yourself a favor and DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT engage in the text chat option from your phone. A waste of time and resources!!!! Hi all, I have the Ultimate package and my internet speeds are very slow ~20-22 upload and download. Purchased a new modem which is listed on the Cox Certified Cable Modems page and had Cox cable run new cable from the pole to my house with very little change in my speeds when tested. All testing is performed by directly connecting to the router and not using the wifi. Other test I changed out the cat6 ethernet cable and retested with same results. Listed below are my specs on my setup. Just not sure if my connection issue goes beyond the pole or on my end. Any input would help. 1. Netgear - Model C6300 / DOCSIS 3.0 / 16x4 channel 2. Lenovo Thinkpad / win10 64 bit / 16 GB memory 3. New cable from pole to my house thanks, Abom13KViews0likes0CommentsWhy is my internet download speed far from what I am paying for?
I have had Cox Preferred service for a number of years. I consistently got download speeds of 30+mb and uploads of about 8 mb. So I just upgraded to Cox Premier service and I now still get download speeds of still 30+mb and upload speeds of about 16+mb. So Premier service is supposed to provide upload speeds of up to 10 mb and download speeds of up to 150 mb. Why am I still getting slow download speeds and higher than expected upload speeds?1.8KViews0likes4CommentsSlow Download Speeds
Can someone explain the actual versus the claimed internet download speeds. I have been downloading a lot of large files today, both at work and at home, both Cox Internet. The actual file download speeds have ranged consistently between 0.5 and 2.5 mbps. I believe I am paying significant money for speeds in the 50 to 150 mbps range. Any thoughts, or guidance on what I am missing here?1.2KViews0likes1Comment
