Contour Cable Box Freezing Constantly
My contour cable box is constantly freezing but only does so when I have the channel guide open or when I am browsing through On-Demand shows or movies. Additionally, if I have a show or movie playing, that show or movie will suddenly "crash"...it will freeze, the screen will go blank, and then the regular TV will come back on. Is there any fix for this that can be done from home without a technician? Do I need to purchase a different box? PLEASE HELP!!!25KViews1like6CommentsChanging cable box
I recently had cox cable installed, I was ready surprised when I saw the cable boxes they installed. They were the ugliest boxes I have ever seen but I honestly could get past the ugly and very old look of the boxes. The problem is that they reboot all the time, some channels never work and channels I don't have appear on my channel list making it confusing to find out which channels I can look at. I have the Scientific Atlanta CSH824H. I've seen that many people have issues with these boxes, I was just wondering if cox does not have any other more updated box? When I log into my account above the model of my cable box appears another box image which is apparently the Cisco 8742HDC. Can Cox provide that box? If anyone else has the pleasure of having their Cox TV Guide read as if they've been translated from English into Spanish, then back into English, PLEASE do us the pleasure of posting your screen shots. Some of these show titles and descriptions are HILARIOUS! Thanks for the bang up job, Cox. Always good for a laugh! http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/o-t-lounge/anybodys-cox-cable-guide-messed-up/66023190/ http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/o-t-lounge/cox-cable-guideacting-up-for-everyone-strange-titles/57811142/ http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/t/6453.aspx2.5KViews0likes1CommentI have to pay for service that is not provided... what a scam!
After they switched over to the "NEW" and NOT improved service (digital, I think) I could not watch a whole program without it going out several times during the show time. I also LOST all of the channels that I had previous to that and when we inquired about it, they had no answer. They also recommended restarting it. So we restarted, and restarted and finally gave up, as it didn't do any good. I called, stopped by to talk to someone, called some more....... The whole time we were paying an outrageous bill for "service"? and there was no service. I had to constantly re-boot the computer to use it. Finally....... they sent someone out! I thought I would be able to watch TV! NOPE! He just gave us some jibber jabber that didn't make any sense and then added $$$ dollar signs to our bill if we wanted it "fixed" and he left us to our non service/but full payment status! That was the final straw...... I stopped paying (since I had no service to pay for) and now they are sending me bills like crazy "after" shutting me off! When will we get "choices" for services that actually work? It seems that we are dealing with a "Monopoly" (which is actually illegal).... Since they don't offer another "comparable" service in our area, we are stuck using COX or nothing...... Either way is pretty much the same results. The only difference is that we pay over $150 a month for Little to nothing with COX and the "complete nothing" is FREE...... Am I disgusted???? Oh, *** no! It's waaaay beyond that!1.3KViews0likes1CommentHow can I get Cisco DTA 250 mini box to work with TiVo Series 2 DVR?
Las Vegas Cox Communications recently digitally encrypting their signal so customers that hook a coaxial cable from the wall to the TiVo or TV now will have to have their mini box to unscramble the signal which is forcing all customers to go to from analog signal to digital signal which is extremely frustrating for customers like me who still has a TiVo Series2 (single tuner) which has a lifetime subscription for which I paid a pretty penny to have (as well as for the actual box too.) When hooking up the Cox Mini Box (cisco DTA 250) it essentially makes the TiVo useless as it will not change changes to record a show. I can watch my TV & change the channels I have searched all over the internet on various forums & tried everything that was mentioned including trying to enter the IR codes on the TiVo for the Evolution mini box that is in some markets as well as the codes found for the Cisco (known as Scientific Atlanta in list). I have the Cisco DTA 250 (also shown as manufactured from Dolby.) I've cable box types Motorola, RCA, Scientific Atalanta, Evolution & a couple of others I don't recall at the moment. After a call to Cox's Technical support they told me there's no codes & my only option is to shell out hundreds of dollars & buy a new TiVo including a new lifetime subscription or try to get an older standard cable box at a cost of $8.99/mo for each TiVo & hope that works. Please don't tell me it's time to upgrade technology. It's not broken so there's absolutely no reason why I should I have to throw it out & spend tons of more $ on getting a new TiVo all because Cox decides to screw over it's customers. I've been a customer for over 10 years & this is just another way for Cox to nickle & dime their customers to death as you get the box for free the 1st year & then $2.99 for each box per month starting after year 1. I have friends in other markets (Minneapolis & Tampa) where their provider gave them the analog to digital box for free. We already pay enough money for cable this is just outrageous. Extremely angry (soon to be former) Cox Customer if this doesn't get resolved.1.8KViews0likes1Comment
