Contour box slow to record or won't record or cancels my recordings on its own. Freezes.
Contour box slow to record or won't record or cancels my recordings on its own. I just had COX TECH CERTIFY MY HOUSE WITH MULTIPLE TESTING on 11/10/2020. Everything including the Contour TV Cable box checked out good. This has gone on since January 2020. I had 7 boxes in 6 months. Sign up to record 6 shows at once. I only have 1 tv. After a I delete a program. I have to wait 5 minutes to be able to record. This is my 6th box in 7 months. The first box lasted almost 2 years. 6 contour boxes since March 2020. June and July 2020 2 bucket truck Cox techs said there is an ongoing problem in Atlanta. I'm paying for a service that works well half the time. They have been upgrading services around here for severals months now so I get lots of slow downs or no services. I'm sick of calling the Cox Tech Dept about these on going issues.654Views0likes1CommentMonthly total Internet Usage
Hello, does anyone know where I can get monthly usage amount totals from Cox bill? I want to see my daily, weekly and monthly usage. Also, drill down and check peak usage times by the hour. Similar to the wireless phone data tracker which shows monthly usage totals. Or, is there a tool available which can provide me similar data collections to get the information I seek. I know of the speed tests, etc., I want to see how many mega or giga I am using. Is it that stupid little box we have to have connected and lose the functionality of our Smart TV?
Watching Football - we get digital blocks across the screen, sometimes, like exactly during the touch down,. When watching NETFLIX, get slow connection issues which cause stoppages and sometimes unable to stream the video. This is not an upgrade, its a down grade.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsDVR 'resume' feature
In the past I have been able to begin watching a show on one TV then move to another location and complete watching the show from the other TV by selecting "resume" on the recording. Lately this feature is seldom available and the only way I can NOW move from living room to bed room (for example) to finish watching a baseball game is to make a note of where the game is at time wize then fast forward to that point to continue watching. Why is the resume feature no longer available? FOLLOW UP QUESTION: iS THIS REALLY THE BEST YOU CAN DO FOR NEARLY 250.00 PER MONTH?1.2KViews0likes1CommentHigh Cost to Replace a MiniBox - $ 255
Fact: Minibox allows Cox to limit pirated cable and charge for each TV hookup. Also, includes added revenue stream. Just inquired as to the cost to replace in the event it is lost, stolen or broken - $255 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the customer rents for countless months, essentially paying to it over time, and then has to pay full price in the event of a mishap. And you wonder why customers hate Cox. AT&T is no better, but will take advantage of their service rebates after 2 yr contract expires.5.9KViews0likes3CommentsChanging cable box
I recently had cox cable installed, I was ready surprised when I saw thecable boxes they installed. They were the ugliest boxes I have ever seen but I honestly could get past the ugly and very old look of the boxes. The problem is that they reboot all the time, some channels never work and channels I don't have appear on my channel list making it confusing to find out which channels I can look at. I have the Scientific Atlanta CSH824H. I've seen that many people have issues with these boxes, I was just wondering if cox does not have any other more updated box? When I log into my account above the model of my cable box appears another box image which is apparently the Cisco 8742HDC. Can Cox provide that box? I was under the impression that if I had a digital television that I would be able to get digital stations on the television without having to have a "BOX" of any kind? I read the information about the "MINI BOX" and decided that I would not need it for my digital television. My interpretation was that if you had an old analog television you would need the mini box. Did I misunderstand what this conversion really meant?1.4KViews0likes1CommentTivo dual tuner won’t work with digital?
I’m trying to set up my Series 2 dual tuner Tivo (yes, it’s old but I have a lifetime subscription) with the mini box. Tivo said it won’t work with the mini box so they said get a digital transport adapter. Now I’m reading links Tivo support sent me and it seems there’s no way to set up my dual tuner - when all channels are digital, it will only work as a single tuner. Does anyone have any experience with this?1.4KViews0likes1CommentCable Card
I recently moved from NJ to Las Vegas, and I am trying to get my cable card activated, so I called Cox technical support. Seems the tech support team was unaware of what I am talking about. I tried to explain that with Windows Media Center, you can use a cable card with a tuner in the computer to watch live TV. BTW, I am using Ceton InfinTV 6 tuner with Media Center. In order for this setup to work you need to provide the following information (4 items) to Cox, or your local cable provider CableCard Serial number CableCard ID Host ID Data The tech support that I spoke to on Saturday July 30th at 1PM told me, after talking to her supervisor that either Cox does not support cable cards at all and that I needed to resolve this with a 3rd party vendor? Is thee anyone on this forum that can suggest a path for me to have my cable card activated? PS I was able to get the card activated in seconds using Verizon FIOS.2.1KViews0likes2Comments
