Cox is throttling speeds of DOCSIS 3.0 modems
I used tohave250-350Mbps down 2 years ago but Cox has throttled down some older DOCSIS 3.0 modems to only have access to the essential 150mbps speed. If Cox didn't have a monopoly on internet service providers in my area I'd switch ASAP. Probably just trying to sell more of their junk modem rentals to unwitting customers and take advantage of their lack of knowledge.2KViews2likes11CommentsThrottling
Hello! Cox does throttle Panoramic service. I've seen several posts here recently that say Cox doesn't throttle bandwidth. I spent some time on the phone with support yesterday and they confirmed for me that they are throttling me when I go over my usage threshold (1.5TB on Panoramic router/service.) I don't get emails, texts and I don't get additional charges for more bandwidth--like the service description describes. I asked if it was throttling and he confirmed that it is. I asked to purchase "unlimited data" and he said it wasn't available in my area. When I asked what can be done, he said, "Sadly, there is nothing that can be done." More evidence that it is throttling is that when I use the Cox tool to restart my router, it goes from 9mbps up to 700-800mbps. It stays there for <10 minutes, and then drops back down. My next step is to call sales and inquire about the $10/packet of bandwidth option and see why it isn't working for me.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsSTOP THROTTLING CUSTOMERS SERVICE
Major ISP Cox Communication Begins Throttling Entire Neighborhoods for 'Excessive Usage' Major ISP Cox Communications has begun throttling the connections of entire neighborhoods for what the ISP deems "excessive usage." More specifically, the ISP has begun severely throttling the upstream connections of internet users who consume too much bandwidth for the ISP's liking, even if those users have paid the company extra for faster, unrestricted service. www.impactimagemarketing.com/.../major-isp-cox-communication-begins-throttling-entire-neighborhoods-for-excessive-usage474Views0likes1CommentSpeed throttling when playing games
I have up to 150/10 speeds, when doing whatever its at around that, but as soon as I turn on any game, doesnt matter at all, the speed gets throttled to around 5/1. Is there anything i can do about this other than run a macro on speed test to force it to stop throttling?641Views0likes1CommentUpload speeds range from 0.00mbps to 0.05mbps + 5% - 10% packet loss on cox hardware and a wired connection.
Title speaks for itself. My company shifted everyone to working from home. With my upload speed. Which lets be honest i dont have any upload speed i cannot even upload files that are less than 1 megabyte. I work in accounting. I cannot email invoices, i cannot save changes to excel sheets on the company cloud. I LITERALLY CANT WORK!!!!. I have contacted cox more times than i can count regarding this I have let then know many times my livelihood is at stake, AND THEY COULD CARE LESS! Agents and tier 1 supervisors are useless. They will spout nonsense saying they see no issue on their end or that my signal levels are strong. They blame my equipment which i had to go rent a cox modem to prove to these crooks the issue was on their end. Tech arrives and says the issue is at the tap on their end WOOP TEE DOO how suprising!! Submits a ticket and says the problem will be fixed in a 3-4 days. 10 days later my internet is STILL barefully functional. I call to find out the ticket is still open! And these useless reps cant give me any details other than that the ticket is open, this was on thursday. On friday the ticket is closed as "resolved" and my internet is STILL in the state described in the title. Here is my most recent speedtest. KEEP IN MIND THIS WAS DONE AT 3 AM!!! I am paying for 100 down and 10 up! https://www.speedtest.net/result/9849250742 50 down and 0.02 up!!!!!! + 6% packet loss!!!! I pay these crooks 83 dollars per month! What will cox do when i get fired because i cant work!? On Monday that will be the third consecutive day that I CANNOT DO MY JOB!!!! if i cox rep responds to this asking me to restart my router i am going to freak out! FIX YOUR GARBAGE INFRASTRUTURE!!! A class action lawsuit NEEDS to happen, these levels of service are abhorrent!2.2KViews0likes3CommentsCOVID-19, Slow Speeds, and Why You Are Paying Full Price for Them!
COVID-19 is clearly slowing down many of Cox’s servers due to the increase of Residential use across the nation. Many more people are at home and needing to use the internet for very demanding virtual tasks to replace going to work. Gaming has also increased substantially with schools and colleges around the nation closing. This is throttling your internet speeds drastically as we speak! Why are we still paying full price for our service then? Follow this link to submit an informal complaint to the FCC for Cox’s unwillingness to reimburse their customers for paying for full price speeds, while realistically receiving fractions of the speed! https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us For example I have the Ultimate package at 300 mbps, and currently I am receiving anywhere from 5 kbps to 20 mbps!1.6KViews2likes3CommentsCox throttling upload speed to twitch.tv
Im an affliated twitch streamer and its really hard for me to do my hobby/job, because of cox throttling my speeds. Already replaced the coaxial cable making sure there are no bends or damage. My upload speed is supposed to be 10mbps, but its very incosistent. The same problems keeps happening for the past 5 months. I drop frames streaming and the stream is never smooth, just as i was growing. I've already had a Tech out and they resolved the problem for 1 day. Not looking to have another tech out. A lot of other streamers have had problems with cox streaming on twitch. The only conclusion i have is Cox throttling my upload speed.9.2KViews0likes0Comments
