So if your billing cycle doesn't fall exactly on the 15th of each month, you'll only get one month of fee waiving. This is deliberate. Makes it seem like they're complying but in reality, they can still charge people for overages. Cox reps locking more threads Cox reps are locking more threads talking about latency, jitter, packetloss, and outages. File a complaint with the FCC/FTC. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106 https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/GettingStarted#crnt Re: Chandler, AZ Jitter/Packet Loss Chandler is highly oversaturated. File with the FCC/FTC/AZ AG as they oversold the area and your CMTS (10.28.x.x) is overloaded with no available upstream bandwidth causing latency and packet loss. They willingly oversubscribed and now need to do node splits to correct the issue which will take months due to city permits, equipment purchase, contracting, etc. File complaints with the FCC/FTC/AZ AG and then find a new ISP if you don't want to wait months paying full price for service you can't use. Re: Intermittent connectivity issues Look around this forum. Your issue is common, we are all experiencing 20-40% packetloss from 9am-10pm every day. Cox is well aware, the only solution is node splits which they have neglected to do in many densely populated areas. Node splits take months to set up as they need to get construction permits with the cities and purchase equipment, etc. So the packetloss issue is not going to be solved for months. File with the FCC as they are expecting you to pay full price for service that clearly doesn't work. Be warned, Cox reps on here are locking any post that mentions packetloss and are pointing you to a page of useless "troubleshooting" steps that tells you to power cycle your modem. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints Re: Las Vegas: High Ping, Reduced Speeds, Packet Loss I filed my complaint over a week ago, no response yet. Did you at least ask for free internet? Re: Las Vegas: High Ping, Reduced Speeds, Packet Loss If you look through these forums, you'll see that all Cox CS reps do is lock threads that pertain to packet loss. File a complaint with the FCC:https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106 Your problems will not be fixed until your node is split. If a Cox rep contacts you after you file your FCC complaint, ask about a timeline for node split and get financially compensated until the split happens. Wait, why did you switch from Google Fiber to Cox coax Gigablast? Did you move? You need to get back on Google Fiber ASAP as I don't think anyone in their right mind would willingly switch from Google Fiber to Cox. Cox coax is having tons of problems with oversaturation and packetloss. Their upstream is congested with all the WFH traffic as well as kids being home - phones, gaming, streamers uploading constantly. You'll be seeing upwards of 20% packetloss until they split your node which would take months since Cox oversold pretty much everywhere and their network can't handle all this new upstream traffic. In other words, you won't be able to game and you'll drop a ton of frames when streaming. File with the FCC and get back on Google Fiber if you can.https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106 TiffanyR at it again Good job locking posts about packetloss and jitter! Wonder how many FCC complaints they're getting. Re: No, my outage was not "cleared" It's likely that their monitoring picks up issues with nodes and flags an outage and then clears it once the alarms on the nodes clear. Recently, that has been packetloss. So the extreme packetloss during the day flags the node as in an outage, then once everyone goes to bed and traffic on the node dies down, it auto clears the outage. An outage doesn't mean that techs are on site fixing anything unfortunately. They do know what the issue is but they've instructed customer service to act like nothing is wrong, to continue to charge normal rates as most people won't notice since all they're doing is streaming Netflix. Gamers, streamers, VPN users, VOIP and video conferencing users are experiencing the same **. The only fix is a node split and it takes months to get everything in order including construction permits from the city. So if your city is shut down then you're stuck for months. Best bet is to file with the FCC so someone who knows what they're talking about will call you and you can get discounts as well as a timeline on your node split.
