Also nothing returned for "time-out" Re: Internet connection drops a few times per day How is that noted in the log? I'll pull what I can. Re: Internet connection drops a few times per day I think this is what you're requesting. If I'm reading the right numbers, they appear to be in the ranges you suggested. I will say my current uptime is 3.25 days, so maybe something has worked itself out? Internet connection drops a few times per day I had a tech visit last week to try and fix a jack. The coax in the jack turned out not to be Cox, so nothing was done with that. The tech did some work out on the box, and ever since the visit, my router drops the internet connection every few hours and shows this message in the system logs: IGD[14598]: igd.info Eventing:PhysicalLinkStatus=Down This is extremely frustrating. How can I fix this issue? My only thought was to factory reset the router and see what happens, but I can't help but think there was something done at the box to screw this up. I previously had practically zero service interruptions, and now I lose it so often, it's very disruptive. EDIT: Wanted to add, after reading some other threads with similar issues, the tech did fix the jack where the router is connected. The jack was separated from the wall with another cable coming out, as well, and he cleaned that up. Just in case that might have caused an issue. Why can't anyone fix my bill? Between October and November, my bill nearly doubled, from $85 to $150/month. I've been trying the past 2 months to get someone to fix it. I have not paid the new rate because it's absolutely not what I signed up for. Now I'm told my account has been locked due to no payment, and the only way I can get anything changed is to make a payment. Why on Earth would I make a payment when I'm getting overbilled? Additionally, they billed me for yet another month yesterday, and when I call to cancel service, I'm told I have to make a payment in order to cancel my service. Additionally, they've hung up on me twice after explaining my predicament five or six times to different people and being bounced all over departments. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Re: Antennas unavailable May 7? Bruce said: I understood you weren't confused because you called her out on the lie. The moderator apologized for "any confusion this may have caused." Cox needs to resolve the cause for this complaint, which I understand will be nothing. However, she probably did what she was told: pressure the customer to spend, spend, spend. Sorry, Bruce, I was replying to the Moderator. Didn't hit the Quote button! Re: Antennas unavailable May 7? "I apologize for any confusion this may have caused." I was not confused. Your representative assumed I was an idiot and tried to scare me into keeping my service. Re: Antennas unavailable May 7? I've now filed a complaint with both the FCC and BBB, for all the good that will do. Re: Antennas unavailable May 7? I tried several times to straighten them out. They assured me I would receive zero channels of any kind without a cable television subscription and box. I do understand the need for a box going forward because of the change to the Cox signal. I gave the benefit of the doubt until I confirmed they had no idea what they were talking about. They said the FCC mandated the use of cable to receive local channels and compared it to the FCC mandate of going digital. I happen to have an OTA antenna and Cox, only because I got a good deal on basic cable stations. I'm taking my box back, though, to save $8.50/month. I can do without cable TV. Antennas unavailable May 7? Last week, I spoke to a representative about changing my Cox services. When I asked about cancelling my cable TV, she informed me as of May 7, the signal from my local networks would no longer be available to be received by an over the air antenna. She informed me I would need a cable box after that date if I wanted to watch any kind of television programming. I tried to tell her I thought she was mistaken, but she insisted without cable, I would lose all local channels on May 7. When I asked what the affiliates would do with their huge antennas, she told me the antennas were being used to push the signal underground to the cable boxes. Why are your representatives being trained to tell outright lies in order to scare customers into keeping their service? Accidentally posted in Internet Forum originally. Solved
