Not out of sync, simply no audio. If I power cycle the TV it returns. By power cycle I mean unplug the power cord for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Haven't tried holding the power button down. Doesn't happen often. Maybe once a month. I also had a issue when I first hooked up the BR player. I made a post on it but can't find it. Had to factory reset then, which was a pain because you have to resync everything through their Samsung platform. Since then I haven't had the problem that I can recall but I don't use the TV that much.
The article I posted has different durations.
Yeah...I meant "no audio" but had sync on the brain.

I see but I didn't have to wait that long. I think it has something to do with the audio buffer. When I first hooked up my BR player it wouldn't give audio but if I changed the audio input settings on the TV it would give audio for a second then go away. Wouldn't matter what setting I selected, it would only give audio for a second.
I wish Cox separated posts from comments on your profile so you could easily find your posts.

Why not wait that long? Article calls it a "soft reset." Perhaps a "hard" (factory) reset has a different process.

Because waiting less time worked? Not sure how to answer that. I wasn't following a procedure. I was just winging it and about 10 seconds works for me. YMMV
