If you are referring to making a Tivo work with Cox service, a cable card and tuning adapter are always required. However, a cable card requires at least the advanced TV level of service which the Contour Flex service does not include. The Contour Flex service is mainly geared towards customers that would like to stream services from devices but still gives the ability to have a contour box in the home if they still want to see the same channels on a regular TV.
