This has been reported by a number of customers. What brand and model receiver do you have? Is it the same model as the one you swapped out in August?
Identifying Your Cox Digital Receiver
This may be a Contour issue or it may be an issue with a particular type of receiver.
For others with this issue, it might be possible to identify a common factor if you post your brand/model receiver and include the DVR service you have, i.e. Record 6, Record 2, Cloud.
I am having the same issues. I am on my 3rd box that records 6. I need to check to see if it is Arris or not. I did print out list of receivers to take with me when I change out my box again. I am going to make sure I don't get the same brand and get one that is on the list. Your reply here has been helpful. My question is what did you mean by Periodic maintenance reboot and how often do they happen? Also is there a daily reboot as well? If so how do you change the time on it? I am getting tried of my shows deleting out of now where. Sometimes it is one or other times more than one.

Recordings being deleted is a known issue. I've never heard an explanation for why it happens. I was only speculating about it being an issue with a particular type of receiver. My thought was it could be a cumulative memory thing. What I meant by a periodic maintenance reboot was a manual reboot on some TBD frequency. If recordings are being deleted because a particualar model receiver doesn't have sufficient memory for Contour, a reboot might prevent the problem. I have a stable box, but it will freeze up occasionally. It usually only happens if I haven't booted it for a few weeks and I schedule a program or do something else while I'm watching a recorded program.

It sounds like I should be doing a system restart or refresh once or twice a month to fix anything before a shows gets deleted. I didn't know I should be doing that?

Please do let us know if it's an Arris and the model number.

Yes it is an Arris AX013NM it is the 6 recorder one. Do you happen to know if Cox has another brand that records 6 shows at a time?

Arris strikes again! :-(
I would call the Cox store and see what they have before unplugging everything and making a trip. I'd also ask if you could get a new one, not refurbished. Probably not but it's worth asking.
I haven't switched mine out but I plan to when I've watched most of what I want that's recorded.
