Zoom Calls Drop Every 5 Minutes

I'm on Zoom calls a lot for work. These calls are not particularly bandwidth intensive - about 2mbps up/down and I have a 50 mbps down plan, roughly 2-3 mbps up. Every 5 minutes, like clockwork, my connection slows down until it is incomprehensible, zoom reconnects and then the situation is fine for another 5 minutes. Rinse and repeat. It is infuriating. I am right next to the router so it is not a problem with signal strength, and it happens when no one else is connected to the internet so it isn't a question of too much traffic coming from our house.

What can I do? There are no other internet providers in my area :(

    Hello @Jchill,

I am so very sorry to learn of your Internet troubles and I'd like to help. I recommend hard-wiring directly to the modem by Ethernet bypassing the router for a more secure connection for your Zoom calls. We would definitely be able to assist you with this. Please reach us on Twitter at @CoxHelp, visit us on Facebook, or email us at cox.help@cox.com. Provide us the name on the account with the complete service address with a link to this thread so we can get started.
