I had a tech out yesterday after 31 emails finally, but he said my cable box seemed fine and that he thinks it's the cables in my apartment, but he can't drill and check because it's an apartment! I asked about the node and how for the San Diego area this has been a widespread problem of jitter latency and packet loss. He said hed request for a tech to be sent out to check the node, but I have yet to receive any communication whatsoever about an update on that. If this continues for one more week (I've lasted 6 months) I'll be switch to T-Mobile like others have here.
My technician appointment is on Saturday, so I'll post an update here. I doubt it's your cables in your apartment as it seems everyone in the 92071 zip code is having the same problem. I just hope Cox fixes this before October because I've dealt with this for about a year now as well.

I'm glad we're all able to band together like this! I felt like I was going crazy for a few weeks there! I hope your tech visit goes well!

I had a tech visit to my place on Sunday. He seemed like a nice guy, and I don't blame him for any of this. But anyways, he replaced the cables on the side of my house and in the green box in the neighbor's back yard, even though he said it probably wouldn't fix anything. It didn't, unsurprisingly. I see no point in taking this further, as no one else seems to be having success. I am going to file an FCC complaint and switch to T-Mobile, at least until the node is fixed. I just need to know when that is going to happen. Any Cox people want to tell me?

According to the Standarche, it is supposed to be October. It would be nice to get a definitive answer here though as well. I don't think anyone who works from home will be able to do anything for the next eight months if it really is October.
