You just solved your own problem Jack. Over saturated node and insufficient infrastructure when all sold packages are using their internet in your neighborhood. You can buy 100 new modems, replace your Cat5 or CAt6 cables a 100 times,and it will not resolve the issue. The other negative side to this is if someone on your node has noise on their line, exposed coax cable anywhere between their house and any junction, you also suffer. Now those issues can be fixed by Cox, but not easily. I am two years into an escalation, it generally resolves itself for a few months when you make enough noise and then it rears its ugly head eventually again. I am gonna bite the bullet and switch to DSL with lower speeds but generally you get much better consistency and stable packets.
