Question about upload ping

So I've been struggling to pin point an issue I've been enduring for years.

I'll start by saying that I've had probably 20 tech visits in the last 20 years.

In that time I've had all wiring and coax changed in my home and from my home to the street. I've tried 4 different routers and 4 different modems for troubleshooting purposes.

The techs come here and say the signal literally looks perfect.

Speed tests give me good speeds that I should be getting.

But when I try to game online, it lags like hell..on every game.

Recently I went on DSL reports and tested my buffer bloat under load.

The picture attached here were my results. I'll also leave a link for more insight.

When I'm online in a server, everything in the server looks fine...nothing lagging...but it's my own character that is skipping every where...rubber banding and whatnot.

That would make sense that my download from the server is stable, but my upload to the server of my in game actions are all over the place.

If all my wiring and gear is fine, what cam be the issue.

I read online about something called RF ingress.. could this be an issue somewhere down the line?

And can that be causing packet burst if the server isn't the issue?

  • Hi DLabit29,

This is certainly a unique situation. Ingress would certainly interfere with the service but since the signal levels are in spec, there does not appear to be an ingress issue in your area. I see that this issue has been escalated and is pending at this time but I'd like to ask have you by chance provided us with any trace route data to review. If not, it would be beneficial to send us a trace route to each site you are experiencing the issues on. Be sure to run it while the game is running.

I've sent countless ping plotter results to social media support.    Pings spike up to 200ms+ on any ip that I ping, and it's even worse when I'm gaming and putting a load on my network.

I can't ping the game servers because they do not provide me with the ip address for the servers.

But it happens on all online games I play. So it's not the servers
