I remember an issue a long time ago with signing into a frequently used website that was solved by deleting temp files. I've changed OS several times since then. By default, Windows 11 storage settings delete temp files before that can occur.
My forum email account is a cox.net and I haven't had that "HTTP Status 401"error in quite a while. It's possible the error is occurring because your forum email account is no longer active. Yahoo will delete email accounts that have been inactive for 12 months. You can test that by sending an email to your forum email account. It will be returned by the postmaster if it has been deleted. I don't think the email account used to register in the forum ever had to be a Cox account. It just had to be active to complete new forum account registration. Help page FAQ includes the following.
Note: You must validate the email address to have your community account fully registered. Until you validate the email address via the link provided in the confirmation email, you are only partially registered.
The only reason I know to need an active email account now is for email notifications. But the sign in process could still be validating the email account is active. Since it can be changed in forum settings, but username can't, email account probably isn't used for forum account identification. You should be able to change it to an active email account. If you were a newbie, that's what I'd suggest. But it's your call. If you change your forum email account, let me know in case I ever have to do it. 😬
Well as it turns out, I may solve the "no google" problem by just giving up the internet all together. Go back to reading more and listening to my CDs. The only thing I will probably end up using the PC for is to play games. So case closed. Solution? I will just repeat what you have said several times; "Avoid Cox". Everything they touch turns to poop.

Thanks for your help but I just don't care anymore. I'm done trying. I was able to download all my content from the forum. Didn't know you could even do that. I think tonight will be the last time I am online...ever. Was nice knowing you and everyone on the forum...even the ones that didn't like me. 😄
