Internet choppy and disconnecting randomly throughout the day

Hi, I've reset my modem multiple times and it fixes the issue temporarily, but I can't seem to find the root cause of the problem. It seems to be with the modem, but I want to make sure before I purchase a new one. I haven't contacted live customer support yet because I figured it would be better to make a post here first. The website smart-help just keeps recommending a modem reset, which fixes the problem temporarily, as I've previously stated. Any opinions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :D

  • We have been having the same issue for nearly a month. I have gone through 2 chats and after the second one took 1 hrs and 15 minutes with 20-30 mins between responses, I called. We are STILL having the issue and have resorted to using Verizon Hotspot for work. A tech is coming out to look at things tomorrow, but honestly not sure why there isn't really any competition for Cox - looking at Verizon. Customer service has been horrible and we just got notification that our monthly plan went up $30/mo. Horrible timing.
