When is Cox going to get this POP and SMTP problem fixed. Continuous problems sending/receiving emails in Outlook. Always get a wiwindow popping up that wants the password, which is there and is correct. But my emails don't go in or out when this box continuously pops up. Then Cox must do something and it goes away, just to reappear a day or 2 later. My computer guy says it is a proproblem with the POP and SMTP. It is soooo frustrating! Anyone else having this problem?

Kayvee, I, too have been suffering with this problem ever since we All were "forced" into loading Win 10 on our PCs. The only way I can read my email in Outlook, is to search my Outlook inbox, then click on the "search All Mail" option, then add 1 letter to the search box; which will load any email that contains THAT letter, I did this today, (First minute on line.) and received every email sent to me since the last time I logged on (2-3 months ago.); Today wasn't as bad as the fri4rst time I tried that trick, the first time I received over 7000 unread emails, dating back to 2014., And some even earlier. I went to"Account settings, and made the change to POP, but the only line that offered POP, shows my Name, but not my email address my Email only showed only on , the 3 SMTP options.

Mary F will changing my settings from POP to STMP cause any problems? [ what about the [cox east] indicators I see occasionally? they seem to have gone away in the past few ears] MaryF. I've made the change to an IMAP/SMTP account which included my Cox email address; checked the password, and everything else, all checked out correctly, and I received confirmation that the change was successful; I sent a test message That is now apparently hovering in the cloud,, because it most definitely did not get to my Outlook2010 in box. Hello Deckape, Your server settings should matching the following: -incoming server: imap.cox.net:993:1 -outgoing server: smtp.cox.net:465:1 -The username should be your email address without the "@cox.net" -All of the check boxes at the bottom of the account settings screen should be checked. Please let us know if you are able to send an email message to yourself.

My husband and I have been suffering this same issue for more than 2 months now and now its to the point where the mail will not even show in Outlook even with the credentials verified. I have worked with Outlook more than 10 times on this issue and they have stated that Cox is the one with issues and since all my email addresses have been compromised and more than 4000 emails have been sent to Russia which I never sent and reported more than 50 to Cox with no resolution and its getting worse, I believe Outlook is correct and this is a Cox issue. I have NEVER sent any email to Russia nor has my husband and none of our other online accounts have been compromised in any way. So you need to find out who is selling email information or you need to block emails to Russia unless they do one of those verification things to show they are not a bot. Also you need to delete every single one of the returned mail notifications from my email account, I am tired of using Cox webmail and deleting 20 at a time and the next day the 1000 or so I deleted the day prior have all been replaced by shiny new ones and brought along 200-1000 more with them.

Are you using more than one device to access your emails? Also, are you able to access your emails through webmail at cox.net?

I have had nothing but problems with email since Cox began "upgrading" their email service. Calls to tech support end up with no solution since Cox simply blames Microsoft Outlook for all their problems. I try Thunderbird and Windows Mail have the same problems: IMAP or POP3 and SMTP errors with both incoming and outgoing mail: Cox incoming & ougoing servers will not respond to any mail client other that Cox Webmail. I have tried and re-tried the settings on my PC and my wife's PC an untold number of times, both with and without Cox tech assistance up to Tier 2.Nothing works and they just tell me to use Webmail.

I pay $250 a month for Cox Ultimate plus phone & TV and have been a customer for 22 years and I am not happy being told what email client I must settle for, since I've ued Outlook for over 20 years on Cox with no problems until this year. Since Cox has a monopoly on high speed service in my area, I'm stuck but once I leave this area, I will leave Cox and never look back again, nor will I recommend it to anyone who has alternatives.

I've also been having issues since Cox's move or "upgrade". All of my previous mail in my "SENT" box disappeared. I had several important chains in there that I can no longer retrieve. Also, sporadically, mail in my "INBOX" spontaneously disappears. Incredibly frustrating. I have been on the phone and chatted online with Cox to resolve this. I have several tickets open and it has been escalated a number of times. No satisfactory resolution. No explanation. They can not retrieve the lost emails (so I am out of luck with those) and the system has been buggy since October 2017 when I first noticed this.

Currently, my email's INBOX goes completely blank once in a while until Cox refreshes it and I have to wait while the current emails in the INBOX get reloaded. Just frustrating when I need to respond to one of them. I use this email account for my newly started business and it has become unreliable. I'll just switch to another provider since Cox can not tell me why this happened nor fix it. I just have to eat the cost of another set of business cards with a new email address on them.

Incredibly frustrating!
