Latency issues, trouble getting this resolved

I have called Cox support regarding some annoying jitter, and supposedly a line tech looked at it but there is no way to follow-up with that division and the issue persists. Basically, the local node is causing intermittent high latencies which causes issues maintaining connectivity as well as introduces horrible lag into any online gaming. I monitor with pingplotter and the issue seems to be isolated to the local node at 10.4.192.1. What is the best way to get this investigated?

I have an issue  that some accounts are set Inactive every few days that has  been going on for over a month. The issue was sent to Tier 3 multiple times with a ticket snd the tickets are still Open.  Good luck in getting your problem fixed

It is better that you have latency issues and it prevents you from gaming.

Otherwise you would use all your 1024 GB data cap and incur overage charges of $10 for every 50 GB.

So look on the bright side.

    Are you me, Matt?

I've been having this same issue for almost 2 months.  I thought it was fixed after a Tier 3 tech worked on it two weeks ago, but the problem started back up again last night.  I play Rocket League and it's pretty much impossible with the line jitter.  I spoke with a Tier 2 guy on the phone earlier today and he told me that 50ms of line jitter is "normal" and that it's "probably just the game you're playing..."

I don't even know what to do anymore...move I guess.

Here's the thread I made on this same issue back in February:

    Good luck fellow jitter victim.

  • @Matt Broderick,

We can look further into this issue for you. Please send us an email with your full name and address to cox.help@cox.com.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks. Yeah, same deal... Rocket League and some Quake, making it unplayable at best and tragic at worst. Funnily enough there is minimal congestion in the local area right now as people are out of town, so its unlikely congestion and probably some bad wiring. I even bypassed to the one cable coming into my house and the jitter remains.
