Internet connection issues

Why does my internet connection intermittently shut off, both wireless and hardwired. All devices and several times throughout day. Disconnection lasts for 5 seconds to 5 minutes. I have had tech guys come to house and find nothing wrong with wiring, and usually change one adapter and thinks it will change. One tech guy said I was only house that came off their box on the street and probably reason I am not a priority. They sent a truck out one time to look at box on street and it came and left never making contact with me and no changes since it came. Any advice?

    How old is your modem and router? What plan do you have with Cox?

      It's a year and a half old, got it from cox.  I have the gigablast plan with panoramic DTC4141 modem

        Are you renting it from Cox? If so, you might want to swap it.  Those modems have been known to have faulty chipsets.
