Extreme lag

just had a chat with tech support and was disconnected..

Tech asked me to do a speed test and here’s what happened.  I’m not going to disclose the tech name. Well just call that person “tech”

You at 2:46, Sep 23:

29.5

Tech at 2:47, Sep 23:

Is this speed test on the tablet or computer?

You at 2:47, Sep 23:

Tablet

You at 2:48, Sep 23:

Usually I get 300 plus all day

Tech at 2:48, Sep 23: the

I understand. Remember that most wifi devices have top speeds of 60-100 mbps. Even if your plan is for 300 mbps, you will not reach such speeds on a wireless device which internal WIFI card top speed is 30 mbps

on laptop 119

You at 2:49, Sep 23:

No way

You at 2:49, Sep 23:

i have wireless ac so how can it only 30?

You at 2:49, Sep 23:

your giving me bad info

Tech at 2:50, Sep 23:

What I am trying to say that most wifi devices won't be able to reach the top speed of 300 mbps. Only around 60 - 100 mbps.

You at 2:50, Sep 23:

laptop download at 119 directly wired

You at 2:50, Sep 23:

Most does not comply with me. No disrespect

You at 2:51, Sep 23:

im sure u know what you talking about but my connection lags like hell

Tech reboots my modem without asking me to do so..  wtf is that?

      Ngk222,

Since the tech reset the modem, has the speeds increased? Would you be able to test a wired connection to the modem directly bypassing the router to see what speeds you are getting there? If you can, please reset the modem & laptop before retesting the service. Let us know what you get when you do this as well
