Does "bridge mode" mean turn off wifi and just be a cable modem connected via uplink to a router?

Trying to configure my home network.  I set up the router, connected its uplink to the 4141 and put the 4141 in bridge mode.  The 4141 won't provide an internet connection.

Does this mean you have to change the subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0?

After you connect to the LAN port of your router, your router will configure itself.  You don't have to enter an IP address or subnet.

    Doesn't work.  Connection is "limited", meaning no internet.
