I've seen some older posts, but I'm concerned about the data usage meter. I got a notification that I have used half my allotment in just a few days. The vast amount of usage is supposedly in "other"...
Thanks. I think the Deco instructions are just for the 4G/5G routers. Mine doesn't have that option. The parental controls do let me review usage, but only by time, not data. I couldn't find anything on TP-Links site allowing that feature, and several off-site posts complaining it wasn't available.
If the pano wifi will let me track usage that way, I'll pick one up today and set it up. It's worth $5 to see if it can say what's using so much data.
Do you know by chance how long it takes for devices to start reporting internet usage? I've had the network set up for about 24 hours now, but no devices are reporting internet usage. I followed this video to try to find it, but when I click on devices as shown at 1:04 I don't see any kind of graph or other report of usage.
This is from the website, not the app, but it's even more unusual. The top bar is yesterday, where usage was about 12GB. That's in line with where it should be, especially on a day both of us were at work for the majority of the day. Other than the modem/router, nothing in the network changed, including our usage pattern. I just don't see how it's possible Cox is registering usage 10-20x higher on similar days.
I can understand significantly increased usage one of those days (8/3), because I downloaded Baldur's Gate 3, which is ~150GB. But the report was over twice that, which doesn't make sense. And the day before yesterday, 8/7, was another work day but it registered 73 GB; 6x a "normal" day that should have been basically like yesterday.
I'll keep an eye on the app and see if the usage spikes again in the next few days.
