Cox says they can't update my modem's firmware.

Modem Firmware for Netgear AC1200 Model C6220 has version V1.02.01 but per Netgear it needs to be V1.01.26 for Cox. Netgear says "Firmware upgrades are pushed down by your ISP." Cox tech support supervisor "Brian" said there is nothing he can do to update the firmware. This firmware update is my last attempt and resolving our intermittent WiFi connections before going back to CenturyLink (blah).
Anyone know how to update this modem's firmware?

    Hello Mikey,

Firmware updates to the 3rd party retail modems are not available until it is tested to make sure it is not a threat to our other customers or our network as a whole. We would definitely be able to assist you with this. When we know that it is safe then we can update our modem with it when you call in to request it. Please reach us on Twitter at @CoxHelp, visit us on Facebook, or email us at cox.help@cox.com. Provide us the name on the account with the complete service address with a link to this thread so we can get started.

when you're in the netgear admin page you might have an option to check for updates.

Cox is 100% the worst at customer support. Best suggestion: find internet elsewhere.

      Hello,

The purpose of the Cox Internet Forum is to allow customers to discuss technical topics related to residential Cox Cable, Telephone, and High-Speed Internet services with other customers. This appears as if you may need someone to look into your account personally. We would definitely be able to assist you with this.
