Cox forcing packet loss and latency South Louisiana

  1. Internet works fine all day long no problems, but I swear to you every at 7:58pm cst I get 20-40% packet loss intermittent, with latency and upload speeds slow to a crawl. I've had technicians come out who cannot diagnose the problem and cox swears there aren't throttling customers but i fail to believe bc every night its the same EXACT time and last all night long, then in the morning everything is fine. Getting really close to switching.
  • Hello. Is this happening with all devices in the home or just one? Also, what speeds do your devices get when this issue happens? -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.

YES! THIS HAPPENS ON ALL MY SMART TVS AND EVEN OUR PHONES, REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY DEVICES ARE CONNECTED. EVEN IF IT IS JUST MY PC I GET 30% PACKET LOSS EVERY SINGLE NIGHT AND IT STARTS AT THE SAME. EXACT. TIME. EVERY NIGHT!!!!! 7:58 PM CST. ITS THROTTLING. IVE HAD 3 TECHS COME OUT AND EVERYTHING TEST AND RUNS FINE DURING THE DAY! NO ISSUES, UNUSABLE AFTER 7:58PM. THIS IS WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE ME SWITCH SERVICES, CURRENTLY CONTACTING OTHER INTERNET PROVIDERS, SOMEONE IN MY AREA CAN PROVIDE ME WITH STABLE INTERNET IF COX CANNOT GET THERE STUFF TOGETHER,.

Happened here in Jeanerette, I have been constantly emailing and complaining till they listened , and I have not seen any packetloss during the nighttime hours for two days, keep calling and keep emailing, till you get them doing the work. for me it took a year.
