Can't retrieve email

So I'm getting a "The RETR command did not succeed" message in thunderbird. I log into webmail and there's one friggin message, spam from GNC. No matter what I try I cannot delete this message on webmail. It keeps telling me "This message could not be moved to trash folder, possibly because your inbox is full". All my folders are friggin empty!

I've cleared cookies/cache and there's no change. When I try to move it to the trash it gives me this message.

"This message could not be moved to trash folder, possibly because your mailbox is nearly full.
In that case, please try to empty your deleted items first, or delete smaller messages first."

Even though my inbox and trash are both empty, except the gnc email that's causing the problem.

  • Hi Vachon,

Did the GNC email download to Thunderbird? If so, delete it in Thunderbird, and then close Thunderbird completely. Once closed, reopen Thunderbird and see if the email actually deleted. This may also delete it from Webmail, depending on your account settings.

Nope. Thunderbird won't download anything from the account. I'm able to log into webmail and read/delete every other message, just not the gnc one.

    Vachon,

Do you access your email from any other device? What browser are you using to access webmail?

No other devices. I've used both Firefox and Chrome to access webmail and both give the same error message when trying to delete the gnc email.

I have been getting the same run around you have been getting.  Repeating the same description of the problem, over an over, to every support operator you talk to, in my opinion, is designed to wear you down.   Throw in the towel.  Resistance is futile.

    Vachon,

I apologize for the mis-type. The email address is cox.help@cox.com not @cox.net. Please try sending the email again.
