Can't forward a phishing email to a fraud department

Can't forward a phishing email to a provider's fraud department, receiving an error message:

An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.2.0 (stuff) This message was undeliverable. This message has been found to be a potential spam message, and has therefore been blocked. Please visit ww2.cox.com/coxagainstspam for more information.. Please check the message and try again.

I saw someone else made a similar complaint in an old thread. Even sending the email as an attachment does not work. I don't know any way around it.

  • I've had the same problem, numerous times. I've given up trying to send them.

  • Hi Escondido-B. Is the email you are trying to forward asking for personal information? If not, you can mark the email as spam so that you won't receive messages from this person or company again. To get further assistance regarding this, please contact us via email at cox.help@cox.com and include this link along with your complete address and name on the account. Marking it as spam doesn't stop the emails from coming through and I've also had the same problem forwarding phishing emails to a company with no personal info or attachments. I've since learned that once someone clicks forgot password & gets into your cox email account they have access to your secret question & answers & acct #
