ARRIS Box

I have a box on the exterior of my house which has ARRIS inscribed on it.  We have been COX customers since purchasing the new house in 1990.  We also have a COX box and one marked telephone in the same area of the external wall.  Is the ARRIS box a COX box and still necessary or is it related to the old analog COX cable?  Can it be safely removed?

I suspect it's a data port for digital voice.  Is there a make and model number on the outside box?  I don't think Cox ever had analog telephone service.  Their first incarnation of voice was Digital Telephone.

Do you currently subscribe to Cox Voice?  If so, a tech may have disconnected the outside unit but left it.  I returned mine to the Solution Store but the rep didn't want it because he didn't know what it was.  I left it anyway.
