Apple mail actions reflected in Cox webmail

Another question

How can u make sure that any email action in Mojave Mac mail is also made in Cox Webmail?

This is how I got in trouble with storage space.....Deleting emails from Mac Mail did not delete them from Cox webmail/ Server

  • You would need to make sure you are using the IMAP server settings for one (can be found here www.cox.com/.../imap-server-settings.html) and that you actually empty the trash folder from either webmail or Mac mail. Just deleting an email does not actually remove it from the server, it will still be sitting in the trash/deleted items folder until removed from there completely (which removes it from the server).

Ok, Thank you, let me ask... if not IMAP, do you know what other server settings are options for use if IMAP is not being used?  But I will say after clicking on Advanced in Account info, it shows "imap.cox.net" as the hostname.  Is that different from what you are describing?

      Thx

That would be the correct one. The other option would be have been a pop server (pop.cox.net).

      The hostname is the imap.cox.net

However I did find an Advanced tab that shows "Imap Path Prefix

      This is blank right now?

      TLS Certificate says "None"

      Thx

        Monsoonsummercl,

That is fine and should cause you no trouble.
