You would need to make sure you are using the IMAP server settings for one (can be found here www.cox.com/.../imap-server-settings.html) and that you actually empty the trash folder from either webmail or Mac mail. Just deleting an email does not actually remove it from the server, it will still be sitting in the trash/deleted items folder until removed from there completely (which removes it from the server).

Ok, Thank you, let me ask... if not IMAP, do you know what other server settings are options for use if IMAP is not being used? But I will say after clicking on Advanced in Account info, it shows "imap.cox.net" as the hostname. Is that different from what you are describing?
Thx
- BrianM7 years agoModeratorThat would be the correct one. The other option would be have been a pop server (pop.cox.net).

👍 But I'm not sure what happened still. Some kind of disconnect between the two crashing the 2GB storage and bringing my email to a halt
I need to spend more time using webmail to understand how it and Mac Mail interact
Thanks very much!
