Pay for Gigabit, all devices capped at 30mbps
I've seen several posts similar to this and want to add my experience. Paying for Gig download speeds, every single device on any bandwidth maxes out at 30mbps. 4 chats, 1 phone call, and a technician visit and they all provided no solution. They either try to sell me on other services, blame the equipment, or see that it's fine after a reset and don't try to diagnose it after that. The technician said they'd even come back that same day but ignored my message asking them to. Bought a new docsis 3.1 modem, wifi7 nighthawk router, and replaced all cables and speeds just die after 5-20 minutes of every modem reset attempt. None of the suggestions I have seen do me any good. The technician tried to blame a spitter in the box that the previous owner had setup for Dish services. Pinging the modem directly came back with the same speeds. Any reset brings the speeds up to a gig on all devices I ping for 5-20 minutes then all drop down again. Doesn't matter what bandwidth I use as the slow speed occurs on 2.4, 5.0, and even 6.0. Moved into this new place 2 weeks ago and they've done nothing to help. If someone got Cox to actually stop slowing their speeds down when this happened to them, I'd love to hear what that was.Nelsonyotes18 minutes agoVisitor3Views0likes1CommentInternet Consistently goes down everyday
Basically the title of the thread, my internet goes down for hours everyday is borderline unusable for the latter half and this has been consistent for months. I've reached out dozens of times to get help from an agent nothing. It's not only mine my buddy that lives 2 doors down from me also has the same issue and has reached out same deal basically told to get bent. Tldr: Go with another company. These internet outages are out of control. I pay about $5.15/day or $0.21/hr for CONTINUOUS internet service. I should be credited for every hour that service is interrupted. This would be an actual fair transaction and help me pay for all the extra cellular data I have to use to continue to work from home during the 5+ disruptions per month. I don’t want to hear that you understand my frustration or that I should reach out for assistance. What I want is a solution to the problem and a credit on my bill.D-Willy3 days agoNew Contributor48Views0likes1Comment1 month free!....

Several days in the last two weeks I have been met with a we seem to have a problem message with a prompt to restart. This is first thing in the morning and after it reboots it is fine for the rest of the day. I do have an older-maybe 10 yo- DVR. I’m thinking it’s time to upgrade but would welcome any suggestions.donna_p3 days agoNew Contributor23Views0likes1CommentConstantly freezing!😡
Why, why, WHY do programs I'm watching on Cox constantly freeze while watching? It's annoying!!! The picture will freeze and then by the time it unfreezes, it has jumped ahead in the program. Why? I let a customer service rep talk me into getting the new cable box and it has been like this every since! The only thing that is constantly is my increased bill! I see why people cut the cord. After 23 years with Cox's shabby service, I think I'm DONE!SerenaReid4 days agoVisitor II26Views0likes1Comment
