Cox email migration to Yahoo, Worst customer sellout ever!
I have four seperate email addresses with Cox, just moved my least used address over to Yahoo today. Not only does Yahoo flood the new address with thosands of unwanted ads, I have unwanted emails that cannot be removed or deleted. In addition they (Yahoo) decided back in Janurary of 2024 to stop allowing email "forwarding" on their platform. They say it's for security reasons and that they are looking out for their customers - bull crap, they moved it to their paid platform to make money off of a free service! With Cox I use this feature everyday on all fourt of my email addresses for every email. This is an absolute down grade from Cox Web service. My understanding that this point is that nothing can be done but migrate over to this horrible email system or be disconnect to Cox mail in the furture for not migrating over. Thanks Cox! I do not want to be bombarded by hundreds of unwanted, un-needed emails and ads that do not pertain to me. Even if they did, I didn't ask for them and I wouldn't buy anything from them by shoving their products down my throat. Just think I have to deal with this three more times. Probably going to be forced to find another service provider. The cleanup maintence factor on Yahoo is going to be way too much for me to stay on top of. Been without internet since Saturday, June 22nd. No updates (no, pushing the same update over and over again isn't an update, that's just repeating yourself). What's going on? Why don't you have anyone on comms? Does your comms guy not understand your network infrastructure? Does the guy who understands your network infrastructure not understand comms? Three days without internet or an ETA or some kind of explanation is ridiculous. Help me out here. What's going on? Ok, so for the last 6-8 months I started receiving notices that my data was almost going over our plan. It is just my husband and i now and when we had 6 people living with us, we never went over or received notices. They're is a scam or something happening. 3 months ago, my daughter and 2 children moved in with us and last month we actually went over and I didn't want to pay overage charges, so I increased it to the 500gb. We never went over before, just was always just barely under so i didn't feel unlimited was necessary. I made sure everyone's devices were not on network and guess what, this month again i received a notice that we were at 90% with 2 days left!! WTF!! How can this be? Something is not right. Cox is just trying to get everyone to pay for unlimited. It's not right. It's there a way to check it? To see what we are actually using the data on? I'm so frustrated. Internet out once again!
Every month there seems to be one reason or another on why the internet goes down for 6 hours!! Some people do work late hours and need the internet. No discounts have been given either! This has been the worst internet service I’ve ever experienced and I lived in the mountains at one point in CA. This company is the absolute worst!! Few months back COX upgraded our speed from 500 MBPs to 600 MBPs. We did not request this upgrade, and Cox did not change for this upgrade. This issue is observed in Irvine, Orange County California. Since then, we have been facing issues. The modem restarts frequently. I called technical support a few times, and they always mentioned that they didn't see any issue on their side. It must be my connection etc. I am not alone in facing this issue. Our friends in this area face exactly the same issue. Technicians visited homes and confirmed there was no issue with the wiring. But they never resolved the issue. There is no way to escalate this to another higher level. To me, it looks like a bandwidth issue. I already replaced the modem and don't see any improvement. In one call with technical support, the engineer mentioned seeing the backed-up traffic. they also installed an attenuator(10 DB) at my modem to reduce signal strength. We live (moderator hid address) in omaha there has been an outage of service since noon saturady. No one can give answers as of whats going on whats being done to fix or when the outage can expected to be fixed. You try calling the a.i doesnt allow you to connect try chatting and no questions get answered. If you've ever had an outage through Cox and inquired about when service will be restored, you've probably received an ODDLY SPECIFIC estimated time. This is because for any issue, all they do is take the current time and add 4 hours. This has been going on for years and is incredubly frustrating and completely useless. It seems redundant to have to register for an online forum that I can only access once I've logged into Cox account. I'm sure I'm being charged for this inefficiency somehow... Also, trying to add a tag like Online Forum makes the app go all screwy, and I had to back out 3 times before I finally gave up and will post this without a tag. Hello all from what i found the way to get rid of all the ads in my email is to pay a ransom. Don’t I already pay for the privilege to have cox email by having their internet? Why would i pay more?
