Tivo and Cable Cards
Does anyone know anyone at cox who actually has an IDea about Cable Cards and Tivo ? I had an Install last thursday and after 3 hrs at my house the tech gave up, so i called Cable support who after some trouble shooting told me the Card is bad, so i went to my Local Cox Store to get a new card, to be safe i got 3 cards. Tried with Remote tech all 3. Still no Luck. Friday a new tech comes trys the cards again and some new ones no luck. He opens ticket with tier 3 and that's where i am stuck. Its now 4 days later and all i get is lip service on when and if it will be resolved. Paying for a service i cant use and know one knows whats going on. If the problem is that cards are still associated with other systems, one would think that COX would make sure that any card returned to inventory is clean and working12KViews0likes25CommentsTivo DVR w/ MLB Extra Innings and NHL Center Ice???
Ok, so I've talked to 3 different Cox reps now and received 3 entirely different answers to the following 2 questions: The first part of the question is If I lease a cable card through Cox so I can watch and record tv with a Tivo unit am I able to still subscribe to both MLB Extra Innings and NHL Center Ice? The follow-up question is, if I am able to subscribe to both of those packages, will I be able to record the games in their entirety on my Tivo unit to watch the next day? (the wife and I are usually at work when our games air so we watch them the next day hence why being able to record them is so important to us). The 3 entirely separate answers I've received so far from Cox are as follows: 1. Online Chat Rep on Cox's site: I was told that they do offer both of the sports packages to subscribers but I wouldn't be able to see them using one of Cox's cable cards in a Tivo unit. 2. Rep inside a Cox Solutions store: I was told that yes, they offer those packages and that I would be able to watch them using a cable card in my Tivo unit but I wouldn't be able to record the games at all because they're considered pay-per-view which Cox does not permitted to be DVR'd. (Personally I don't see how these should be considered any differently than a premium channel like HBO, Showtime, etc. as it's not a single typical pay-per-view event like a boxing match - they're full seasonal sports packages and my current tv provider has no problems allowing me to record every game). 3. Satellite Cox kiosk - I was told that Cox does not have either the MLB Extra Innings or NHL Center Ice season sports packages available but if they decide to offer them in the future I should have no issues receiving or DVR'ing them using a leased cable card through my Tivo unit. As you can see all 3 answers are entirely different from the next. We currently have Cox for our internet but Directv for our tv service. Our Directv contract is almost over so we were exploring different options that are available out there for our next tv provider. As I mentioned above I wouldn't think that Cox would consider both of those sports packages as PPV events since they aren't standalone events and you're not paying per game - you're paying like you would for adding a premium channel to your lineup and I think their employees may be confusing the two as I can't imagine a cable company forcing their customers into watching 162 baseball games a year LIVE only. That just doesn't sound correct? Anyway, if anyone has a Tivo Bolt+ and MLB Extra Innings/NHL Center Ice and frequently records games to watch please let me know as that would be most appreciated.Solved3.2KViews0likes4CommentsUnable to Access Cox On Demand on Tivo Bolt
I joined the Cox family on Saturday under the silver package and love how fast the internet is. The only down side is that my new Tivo Bolt does not appear to be configured for Cox On Demand even though I am subscribed to the Contour TV package and 150 mbps internet.11KViews0likes26CommentsTivo dual tuner won’t work with digital?
I’m trying to set up my Series 2 dual tuner Tivo (yes, it’s old but I have a lifetime subscription) with the mini box. Tivo said it won’t work with the mini box so they said get a digital transport adapter. Now I’m reading links Tivo support sent me and it seems there’s no way to set up my dual tuner - when all channels are digital, it will only work as a single tuner. Does anyone have any experience with this?1.4KViews0likes1Commenthow do I get TiVo series 2 to work with a cox cisco 250hd mini box
I see many forums, but no answers and nothing since 2015. Phoenix just made everyone change to the Mini box. I have tried for hours and hours and days and days, did anyone find out the exact box to use or the a correct code? I have both the blasters and I special ir cord that goes from the TiVo to the back of the Cisco box (ir in) I have tried both with several different box names. RCA, Scientific, pace, Thomson, evolution, and a bunch of others. Someone told me to use the Explorer, which is not an option on my TiVo. I asked Tivo and they sent me some of the instructions which I read and have seen in here somewhere, tried again, and still can not find. I see Comcast has an actual Comcast DTA box on the list. (tried it also). Is there something I am missing? Can someone please help. I do not understand why TiVo cannot get the Cisco 250HD mini box in the system. Do I need a new box? Plus, why can't I reply to the other forums? There is not a reply button. Maybe I am just having a bad week. Thanks! Cheri3.3KViews0likes6CommentsMiniBox with Hauppage WinTV Tuner card in my PC
Hi I subscribe to Cox digital cable with HD. I have two TVs with cable boxes but I also have a Hauppage WinTV HVR 1600 in my PC as well. I run the cable to my PC without a cable box. I don't really need it. I use this setup to record the channels that I can receive without a cable box. This has been working well for years. I would like to understand how this pending change (requiring me to use the MiniBox) will affect my recordings. Currently, this TV tuner see two sets of channels: Set1: Approx 90 Analog channels Set2: Approx 30 OTA HD channels (Clear QAM). If I understand this correctly, I will no longer see the analog channels without this box yes? Will I still see the OTA/Clear Qam channels without the box or do I need the box for those too? Thank you -SteveSolved7.7KViews0likes13CommentsTiVo & Cox OnDemand in Phoenix
The forums say some people have it and some people don't have OnDemand on their TiVo's in Phoenix. Phone reps have said its available. TiVo Website says its available on a blog post but then in the support documents it's only available in one zip code. 4 techs have been out to my house and they state "it should be working." TiVo support said in the morning it is available and in the afternoon it wasn't. Cox twitter support said they could get it working but then said if TiVo said it wasn't available it wasn't available. So is it available or not. I am really tired of being told its available and it's not. Xfinity had it for years and it worked great. Heck at this point Xfinity/Comcast is looking like a better company than Cox, and that is saying something!16KViews0likes32Comments
