spam and not spam reports bouncing
Hello, Until recently, I've been able to forward mail which either should be spam or which Cox has flagged as spam, but is not, to either SpamReport@cox.net or ThisIsNotSpam@cox.net. For the last several days, this no longer works, and my forwards are begin bounced. The error message I'm getting is like the following: <cox-spam@feedback.cloudmark.com>: host 68.1.17.4[68.1.17.4] said: 552 <tucsonmuffy@cox.net> message rejected. Hi, Cox has once again marking some of my legit emails as "spam". The messages do get delivered to my inbox as I set up email filters to deliver all of the emails to my inbox whether or not they are marked as "spam". Over the past several months, I have sent several incorrectly "spam" flagged emails (along with the complete header info) to the "ThisIsNotSpam@Cox.net" address but nothing has changed. I realize that Cox has outsourced their email service, but there should be a method to stop legit emails from being flagged as "spam" by the company that handles Cox's email service. There used to be a "this is not spam" feature in Cox's webmail, but that disappeared a while ago. A search of the Cox email forums shows that this is a long standing problem for Cox's customers, but there doesn't appear to anything Cox or its outside email service is willing to do to correct this problem.672Views0likes2CommentsCox has marked my email server as a spammer - how to resolve?
I am using Siteground Hosting for my business websites and email addresses. Cox has recently marked my email server's IP address as spam. At least I am getting non deliverable notices from Cox. I have tried from 2 separate email addresses and both have the same failure notices. Here is a copy of the message with personal info redacted: From:Mailer-Daemon@se19.mailspamprotection.com Reporting-MTA: dns; se19.mailspamprotection.com Action: failed Final-Recipient: rfc822;qqqqq.qqqqqq@cox.net Status: 5.0.0 Remote-MTA: dns; cxr.mx.a.cloudfilter.net Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 421 cxr-ibgw-5007a.stratus.cloudmark.com cmsmtp 146.66.121.163 blocked. Refer to Error Codes section at www.cox.com/.../email-error-codes.html for more information. AUP#CXCNCT: retry timeout exceeded The email server ip address that is being blocked is 146.66.121.163 and does not show up on any spam blacklists that I can see. I can give you the email addresses if you need them, but do not want to post them to a public forum.3.7KViews0likes9CommentsCox spam filter flags e-mail from Cox as spam
This is the ultimate false positive. Most Cox e-mail customers probably know by now that the Cox spam filter is notorious for mistakenly flagging legitimate mail as spam. Well, they have taken this failing filter to the highest level. Today, I received the monthly statement reminder from Cox, and it was flagged by their own spam filter as spam! Since Cox doesn't seem to want to address the high false positive issue with their spam filter, this post may be a waste of time. However, if someone from Cox will tell me where to forward this spam-flagged e-mail, I'll be happy to do that. And please, don't tell me to forward it to ThisIsNotSpam@cox.net. I've already done that, Thanks, Tim4KViews0likes8Comments
