Absolutely abhorrent internet speeds
For the past day or two now my internet speeds have been below 1 mbps. I pay for your "Preferred Internet Service" and I'm supposed to be getting near 100 mbps speeds. I tried unplugging my modem for 1 minute and plugging it back in, as well as restarting my computer. What can you do to fix this?1.3KViews0likes2Comments- 1KViews0likes1Comment
Service Interrupted and slow speeds
We've been experiencing extremely slow speeds lately so I logged into my account and see a Service Interrupted message displayed for My Internet. Speed tests currently are indicating roughly 1mbps down and 10mbps up but it seems to vary a bit from that. Are there common issues that cause these service interruptions and slowdowns that I can look into? Thanks,Solved2.9KViews0likes4CommentsCox website slow - or me?
I have been having many issues of late, one of which is when I log into cox.com (CHROME or FIREFOX) it seems to take a long time once I enter my credentials until I am actually logged in, and then it usually takes a long time to get to whatever destination I am looking for. Is it just me? I also have had very sporadic internet (hard wired) service. With SPEED TEST I can often see (in the same test) speeds varying from 50Mbs (and above) to less than 10 Mbs. I replaced my gateway yesterday with a new ARRIS TG1682G so I don't think it's hardware related. I also checked all the internal house wiring and splitters yesterday while I was experiencing extremely slow service by substitution and bypass) and all that was fine (several hours wasted). Ever since the big outage last Friday my internet has been worse than usual (have had issues for years). Sometimes my neighbors have the same issues, sometimes not (their drop is from a totally different service across the street). Presently I am waiting for Tech Support to contact me back about scheduling a service call, but if things aren't broke the day the Tech comes that will serve no purpose. Any ideas? Thanx.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsSlow Download Speeds
Can someone explain the actual versus the claimed internet download speeds. I have been downloading a lot of large files today, both at work and at home, both Cox Internet. The actual file download speeds have ranged consistently between 0.5 and 2.5 mbps. I believe I am paying significant money for speeds in the 50 to 150 mbps range. Any thoughts, or guidance on what I am missing here?1.2KViews0likes1CommentLow Upload speeds.
basically through exhaustive testing on multiple computers routers and switchs i still only receive 6-9mbps upload on testmy.net and real uploads to youtube google cloud and dropbox. My download speeds are fine, Called tier 2 support ans said its likely a issue with my sb6190 since all signal reading good and speedtest to cox and speedtest.net are fine and requested i try a new modem.5.4KViews0likes14CommentsCox Slow speed internet
why does my internet speed vary from less than 1 mbps to as high as 20 mbps and never gets to 50 I was told this was because of my modem - I purchased a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem approved for cox I have talked to tech support multiple times in the last few days and I don't really have the patients to keep listening to the same script over and over - reset the modem, I get it - so well that I put a switch on it to make it easier. does anyone have experience with a Netgear CM500?7.9KViews0likes22CommentsPaying for Premium 100mbps but only getting about 10-20mbps
Just recently had cox internet set up at my place and I tested the internet the other day multiple times and the fastest I have seen it at is around 20mbps download. Sometimes it dips to just 10mbps. I am paying for the premier service 100mbps, so I am wondering where I am losing speed? I have a brand new Motorola SB6141 Modem and new AC1200 Linksys router, both rated for well above the 100mbps, so they can't be the culprit. I am wondering is there specific settings I need to configure on my router to improve the speed or is this something I just need to call Cox about?3.7KViews0likes5CommentsNow....Bad wi fi connection
Hi, within the last 3 months or so, My laptop and iphone have been not receiving a good solid signal. I lose internet on both and it's increasingly frustrating as the problem is getting worse. Our router has always been sufficient. What's going on and why am I having these problems now? What is different or changed on your end? Thanks.Solved7KViews0likes13Comments
