FYI channel
I am at a total loss about this channel. It used to be the Biography Channel. The name changed to FYI, andCOX decided to package it in a Sports and Information Package. FYI in this case meant "For Your Inspiration"....look at the programming...it's not informational, it's entertainment. No idea why it's in the S&I package. Anyway, in September, I had suddenly had access to FYI...until the end of October, when I had to unplug my cable box to have new carpeting installed. When I plugged the box back in, FYI was no longer accessible. What gives? I haven't changed my service in several years. The History Channel, HGTV, and DIY are not on the S&I package, and FYI doesn't belong there either.8.5KViews0likes7CommentsTEMPORARILY OFF AIR

I just bought several Mini Boxes for my house. The one in my son's room has been installed and is working just fine. He has an HDTV and is using the HDMI cable. I have installed the Mini Box in the computer room using the Coax cable, but when I press the Guide button, only three channels show up in the guide and each one says "Program Unavailable." I have unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in, but the guide still says "Program Unavailable." The TV in the computer room is not an HDTV.6.6KViews0likes2CommentsSick of seeing the sorry, we're having some trouble message
Atleast 2 or 3 times a day I receive an error message when I try and select a channel. It's not a specific channel that is having problems it's all over the place with issues. This is unacceptable. We switched to Cox with the promise of a visa card also and I haven't been able to get any answers about how to get that. I have reset the cable box many times and it solves the issue sometimes but not always. I need yall to correct both of these situations now4.4KViews0likes1CommentOn Demand not updating
This Past Sunday 4/10/2016 Madam Secretary Episode: Desperate Remedies Aired. Well because of an overage of another program my DVR only recorded 30 minutes of it. Normally i would go to On Demand and watch it but for some reason it is not showing in the CBS lineup. i have been seriously thinking of cutting the Tv Cord with COX since they seem to Love treating Long term service customers (16 yrs) with less then appropriate service. Does anyone know ANYTHING about why the OnDemand Service in NOT updating Properly?3.4KViews0likes5CommentsPandora Internet Radio
On a previous version of the Contour box, Pandora was available through the Interactive Services Menu. On the new Contour box, with a new remote, there does not seem to be an option to access the Interactive Services Menu. However, there are Apps available through the Contour button on the remote. Should there be an App for Pandora??3.2KViews0likes5CommentsALL DVR recordings GONE and no scheduled recordings for next 14 days
I came home today 5/31/2018 for lunch to watch ABC Nightline and lo and behold I have absolutely none of the shows I have recorded for the last 19 months. Yes, ALL OF MY RECORDINGS ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First time ever! When I went to scheduled recordings It stated on the screen "No recordings scheduled for the next 14 days" WOW!!!!!!!!!! This is terrible and now my wife, grandkids and I all have to remember all the shows we programmed for the last 19 months? This is outrageous and should have NEVER happened. With 3 contour boxes surely one of these should have saved the shows. When scheduling a tech to come out they said I may have to pay a $75 service fee!? I about lost my cool for the failure of their equipment to charge me for it. Well that is a standard disclaimer they have to say and if I'm charged I will lose it. Right now I cannot record a thing. Thank goodness the NBA finals are on and there aren't too many new shows on. I try to record all 3 national news programs so this is not good. I wish there were a competitor in Tulsa, OK other than direct.tv and at&t. Hopefully someone will come up with a good it not great alternative. Time is important to me but this may end my TV viewing so much. I'm just frustrated since I pay $200 per month and lose almost 2 years of recorded shows.3.2KViews0likes3CommentsTV Channels Missing
For the past month our TBS channel (OKC channel 731) has not worked. The non-HD channel 62 works.. but HD 731 does not. We called the first time about 3 weeks ago.. and after running all of the tests they could not determine what was wrong. We were supposed to have received a call within 24-48 hours and did not. I called again a couple of days ago.. they ran more tests, had us check physical connections etc.. nothing helped. While we were waiting on the testing they were explaining the Contour and home phone bundling they were wanting us to "upgrade" to. By the end of the call, we had not signed up for the additional stuff and there was still no explanation for the missing TBS station. Now, FOX News and CNN are missing as well. Part of me feels like they went "missing" because we didn't sign up for their additional services. But I'm sure that's ridiculous. Has anyone else had this issue? Cox - if you're reading this - is there really no way we can get our channels back? I was told the channels would "definitely return" if we got the new contour box. But I really don't want to feel like I'm paying a ransom.3.1KViews0likes3CommentsNew definition for the word 'FREE'
While exploring On-Demand's free content sections, I discovered its Free Movies directory and ultimately the MoviePlex channel's free movie offerings. Filled with almost 100 titles, it appeared to offer of nice selection of movies across a wide variety of genres. Recently our family settled in for a Saturday night popcorn-fest, selected a movie guaranteed to please all ages and punched the 'Run' button on the remote to begin. Unfortunately instead of the expected searchlights accompanied by a booming symphonic score, we were treated to yet another solicitation in what has sadly become this company's ceaseless quest to sell another pay channel. Upon sequent investigation, I found that almost half of the listings offered were in fact similarly unavailable. Since when did the definition of the word 'FREE' change from its original meaning of 'without cost or payment'. As a comparison, when I visit a local multiplex cinema offering free Classic Movie matinees a few days each month, I think it reasonable to assume that if a listing is offered, it will in fact be available to watch ...for free! Likewise I expect to pay to watch all of the latest blockbusters playing in the rest of the cinemas because they are clearly identified as being pay to view. And I don't begrudge the many channels in question from offering additional movies without cost to their paying subscribers as additional perks. Such benefits represent market capitalism at its best. What I do find frustrating however, is that On-Demand and/or Cox are either too lazy or indifferent to identify this simple difference in their Free Movies menus. It certainly appears that in the world of cable television and content providers, FREE DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN FREE! Maybe its time to read a good book instead.2.3KViews0likes3Comments
