Lowe power levels on my Arris Modem
So according to arris my power levels should be around 45-61 dBmV. This can be seen here: Arris official recommendation For some reason on my Arris modem, I am only getting around 35. Screenshot below. Other levels look good as per Arris recommendations, it's just this specific area my levels are low. Customer support has been no help. Our Contour cable box is not wanting to turn on. Right now it is displaying the correct the time, and it shows that it is recording a show. The remote will not turn it on, nor will pressing the power button on the front of the unit. When I hold the power button down, it shows a power icon that blinks on the display, but nothing happens.3.6KViews0likes4Comments3-way splitter for Internet Modem, Phone Modem, and TV
Please let me know if a 3-way unbalanced non-power passing splitter like the Extreme Broadband BDS103VF/ BDS103H or a Antronix appropriate? The splitter will connect to a phone modem, internet modem, and a long run to a TV. I'm also open to other suggestions. Thanks.3.4KViews0likes1CommentAre our Cable Boxes Power Hogs? Is it OK to switch them off when not in use?
I realize we will not receive our Program Guide updates if the Cox Digital Cable box is switched off, or unplugged. overnight. Will it help conserve electricity if we switch off during the day, during peak usage times, when the TV unit is not being used? I always turn the cable box off during long vacations. We need to find ways to conserve power. Perhaps the newest cable boxes have a powered-down mode? This is the article posted on the web that led to the questions, from the L.A. I Just had Controur 2 installed and am very happy with it. My question is the mfg recommendation for powering down the boxes. In the default configuration it seems both boxes stay on 100% of the time. I know some devices do better if allowed to run all the time. Others benefit from stopping periodically. Not considering the power savings, what is the best configuration for the hardware? Thanks John1.1KViews0likes1Comment
