Power ON/OFF recommendations for ARRIS and Pace boxes

I Just had Controur 2 installed and am very happy with it.  My question is the mfg recommendation for powering down the boxes.

In the default configuration it seems both boxes stay on 100% of the time.   I know some devices do better if allowed to run all the time.  Others benefit from stopping periodically.

Not considering the power savings,  what is the best configuration for the hardware?
