COX + AWS VPN Client terrible pack loss
I WFH and my company is switching from a Cisco VPN Client to AWS VPN Client. My internet is amazing (230D/10U) when I am not on a VPN and works pretty good when connected to Cisco VPN. However whenever I connect to AWS VPN Client I have intermittent terrible connection times, small image/js assets (<1mb) for a webpage or email will take a minute to reach my client. In working closely with my network engineers it appears the issue is between Cox and AWS, how does the issue get resolved? I won't be able to do my job when we make the switch.2.7KViews0likes8CommentsPacket Loss: Gaming and Cloud connections
Hello Cox community: Lately, I am getting significant packet loss when playing games (PUBG, Overwatch, Fortnite, etc). I've had up to 12% upload packet loss, but rarely any download packet loss. This packet loss is also causing frequent disconnections from my Amazon AWS instances, or connections to Microsoft Azure. I've replaced my modem, bypassed the router, refreshed the Windows OS and re-downloaded the software. Today I reinstalled all the drivers, and the issue persists. I've had a Cox technician in my home, who states everything looks good on my end. Has anyone else found a resolution to this issue? It is painfully annoying.2.1KViews0likes3CommentsCox is not passing on packets to the next hop when sending to my exchange server located outside the U.S.
Hi, Does anyone know how to escalate it? The tech support I talk to don't seem to understand. My exchange server is outside the U.S. and they claim it is not their responsibility to send it there. I have told them I understand that as there are intermediate global ISPs that will forward it but their responsibility is to pass it on to the next hop whereas they are dropping it within their servers. I shared the tracert that clearly shows that the last IP it communicates to is a Cox IP and it does not go beyond that. It seems to work at times though. I am forced to use my work VPN to send out emails. When I take my laptop to other places (where Cox is not the provider), it works just fine. I would like to give it one shot by escalating it before I will be forced to switch to another provider as it is affecting my ability to work. Does anyone know how I can escalate this? Thanks!1.5KViews0likes1Comment
