Need Help with Motorola Warning Messages
Hello My internet connection has been up and down for 3 days. I have eliminated my router as the cause. I'm trying to determine if my Motorola cable modem is the cause. After the Cox outage was resolved in my area, I see the below warning repeated in my modem logs. Can anyone help me understand what this means? I redacted my MAC addresses. RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW;CM-MAC= redacted;CMTS-MAC= redacted;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1; Troubleshooting done = Rebooted router and modem Power cycled router and modem Replaced network cable Replaced router Exhausted level 1 Cox tech support after they did a remote reboot of my modem I'm an IT professional and can say that all layer 1 troubleshooting has been done. My next step is doing a complete factory reset of the modem, but since I've already spent so many hours on this, thought I'd try this forum to see if there are any network professionals here that can help me identify the cause and not spend too much more time trying to identify the root cause. Does anybody on Cox have a working Motorola MG7550 AC1900 modem\router? My wireless network is slow and devices are slow establishing a connection. Devices sometimes timeout attempting to establish a connection. Cox techs have been on-site and unable to find an issue. They say the signal is good. They found no splitter related issues. Arrogant Motorola support was not helpful. So, does anyone have one of these modems working on a Cox network? In Roanoke, VA? I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what the upstream and downstream connection status readings should be. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks for your help!3.1KViews0likes7CommentsConstant T-3 timeouts
Hello, our modem consistently receives these t-3 timeouts, and the modem will get 'stuck' when this happens and we have to manually reboot it. A cox tech has been out multiple times on this issue, and the signal levels still are not 100% in spec I feel for the upstream. I called tonight but was told "well its working now, so not much we can say" I am wondering at this point if the problem will ever be fixed because of the number of techs we have had out who all leave saying everything is fine when it really isn't if it keeps disconnecting on a daily basis. We have a Motorola SurfBoard modem. I am wondering if a Cox moderator can reach out to me on here to see if perhaps there is a group that is keeping track of signal issues in my area. Thanks Zachary2.2KViews0likes2CommentsConstant T3 Timeouts (Tulsa, OK)

As my subject says, I keep having my modem reset after maybe two to three hours. I check the modem logs and it tells me it is due to a t3 or t4 error. I have called tech support and they don't know and can't give me any form of solid answer. I have been bumped to tier 2 service and they just refresh the signal. I have a tech coming tomorrow, but I was hoping to get a handle on the issue, prior. Here are a few screens from my modem's logs and signal. any help would be awesome, thanks!3KViews0likes3CommentsFirmware update for my Motorola modem.

I mainly just watch a few things I record thru the week on the weekends, but to be clear; I see the following phenomenon on live TV as well. Sometimes (not all the time) on some channels, I will have periods of the sound dropping out for about a second, usually along with a narrow strip of the picture about 1/3 down from the top also distorting during the sound drop out. When it happens, the frequency of occurrences can be as close as 3-4 minutes or so. Sometimes it's so annoying, I just give up watching (along with wondering how stupid I am to be paying $xxx a month for this 'privilege'). I only have one TV hooked up to my Motorola DCT6412/2000 (no HDMI on the box; component) that I've had since ~2007 via my receiver. This phenomena has been happening off and on for about a year, maybe two. This *never* happens when watching via my Roku nor Chromecast using the same setup; just the Moto. The main channels affected (or the only ones I really watch) are the area NBC & Fox stations, along with BBC America, all in HD. As I write this, I realized I've never checked the SD channel versions. Then again, mostly I'm watching recordings but if I do have to switch to SD just to avoid this issue, what indeed *am* I paying for?3.8KViews0likes3CommentsMotorola SB6141 Modem - Update Firmware?
