No incoming email?
I have repeatedly had issues with my email ever since Cox "upgraded" its servers. Have checked all imap settings. I can send email but not receive it in Outlook 2016, my iPhone or at the Cox webpage. It is again on a "ticket" but I am again without email. I have been a customer for over 30 years but the last year has witnessed a failure in both service and equipment for me. I will continue to try and resolve this, but come December 17 (the end of another 2 year commitment) I am a gone pecan. I work from home on occasion and cannot tolerate the lack of email so often.1.9KViews0likes4CommentsCan't access my Cox email via iMap
Since July 19 2017 I've been unable to download iMap messages from my Cox account. The error messages say either that I've been disconnected from the server or that I'm using too many iMap channels. Regarding the latter, I reset the maximum number of channels to 1 but still get the message. This is happening on both my home computer and at work. Until this morning I had not changed any settings in my email configuration, but at home this morning I changed the incoming port from 993 to 995 to bring the settings into accord with Cox's latest documentation. But this had no noticeable effect. I am using Mozilla Thunderbird 52.2.1 on iMacs running Mac OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite). Can you please shed some light on what's going on and how to fix these problems? Thank you.1.6KViews0likes3CommentsIssue w/ SMTP in Thunderbird 45.8.0
I've had issues before with it not saving outgoing mail in Thunderbird, but NEVER in sending. This has appeared over the last 24 hours or so, still works fine in my phone & iMac (both using IMAP and Apple Mail). Now that I'm typing this I realize it might be JUST due to the VPN. I do use it with different end points/cities. But either way it's happening and I need to be able to send e-mails, regardless of what city/country I appear to be sending from. I just switched from a POP account to an IMAP account and love the way it is syncing between my laptop, phone, and the server. The one issue that I can't resolve is that items in my TRASH are being permanently deleted automatically after a day or two. The only emails in the trash are ones from Today and Yesterday. I want them left there until either I delete them permanently or at least two weeks. On my iphone, I have it set to delete after one month. In Outlook 2013, I have the box Unchecked that says delete when closing outlook. I also have the box Unchecked that says to purge the folder when switching folders. How can I make the time longer before Cox permanently deletes my trash bin?4.2KViews0likes7CommentsPassword problem setting up IMAP
My COX account password works fine for everything EXCEPT IMAP settings. My spouse uses IMAP without any problems using his standard COX login password. Settings: Using Thunderbird email: [same as I've been using for years with COX pop account] port: 993 username: [same as email less "@cox.net"] security: SSL/TSL authentication method: Normal Password [and I've typed it in when asked over and over!] "Get messages" fails asking for new password. My password is 8 characters with letters and number and to repeat, works fine to log onto the Cox website, etc. -Sherri S1.7KViews0likes1CommentOutlook 365 and Cox IMAP account not synchronizing across multiple PCs and Macs
I have setup Cox IMAP (according to the Cox online instructions) with Outlook 365 and I am using it on multiple Macs and PCs. Although it works fine, it does not synchronize properly across devices. In other words, when I read and delete emails one one Mac, when I load Outlook 365 on another machine, the same emails still show unread. I also maintain several GoDaddy email accounts as well as a Google GMail account using Outlook 365 and none of these problems occur with those accounts. The problem is restricted to Cox IMAP, GoDaddy and GMail work as expected. What could be the reason for this behavior? ThanksSolved11KViews0likes11CommentsThe server returned the error: The attempt to read data from the server “imap.cox.net” failed.
I keep getting this problem. I typed this problem in to google and found a forum article but unable to find the forum when I logged in. I own an iMac and email is not getting pushed emails.4.3KViews0likes4CommentsIMAP for Cox stopped working
I've been using IMAP with my Cox account as well as several other services for many months now. IMAP still works for the other services, but I can't login to the Cox IMAP server any longer. The problems began last month. These are the settings that were successful before: cox.imap.com, port 993 using SSL. Cox user name without the cox.net. smtp.cox.net, port 587 using TLS. Full email address for outgoing server authentication. The problem seems to be only with the IMAP server authentication because SMTP is successful some of the time. My other IMAP accounts that are not hosted by Cox still work. Did the Cox IMAP server name or port number change recently? Do you know how I can get IMAP working again? I'm spoiled by having my email synced across all my devices.Solved11KViews0likes11Commentsimap.cox.net servers down? Nov 10th 10:30am Central
Anyone else having trouble getting their cox email today? Just noticed that I have not had an update in my email since 2am. Webmail doesn't seem to be working either... just wondering if I'm alone out there or if others are finding email to be an issue today?1.9KViews0likes2CommentsDefault IMAP folders
I recently converted my POP3 accounts to IMAP, and I seem to have redundant folders, e.g., Trash, Deleted Items, Deleted Messages. I can delete some of these folders but I'm not sure which folders are needed for Webmail. Also, I have four separate email accounts with Cox, and when I refreshed the IMAP folders for each one, they have slightly different folder structures. For example, one account only shows Inbox, Trash, and SentMail. Can anyone tell me what the default IMAP folders should be for a Cox IMAP account?Solved3KViews0likes3Comments
