Fiber ONT options
My home is connected through fiber, and I have my own router that I am using. Service has been good so far, but I am looking for an option. My bill is showing that I am paying $14 for Panoramic Wifi Gateway Rental, which supposedly includes the gateway, app, security perks, etc. However I never received any of that equipment (natually because I'm using my own), and the apps say my account is not active for the other things. So I called Cox - and they said that the $14 charge is simply for the ONT. Seems kinda weird to charge for a gateway rental when its not for a gateway, but whatever. First question is - am I really supposed to be paying a rental fee for the ONT device? Anyone else paying this? Second question is - Is there a list anywhere of Cox compatible ONTs out there for if I wanted to get my own to avoid this monthly charge if thats really what it is?2.4KViews0likes12CommentsZombie email!
Deleting Email is very time consuming on mobile devices. What is worse is that deleted email whether in webmail, iPad, iPhone, returns to the in box a day later. I see forum posts on this same topic that are 9 years old and the problem still hasn’t been addressed.1.4KViews0likes3CommentsDevices connected to the panoramic router appear offline
I have several servers connected through Ethernet to the cox panoramic router. On the router webpage, (typing the routers ipv4 into a browser) the device(s) in question are shown as connected. However, on the WiFi.cox.com webpage, it shows the device as offline. Because I cant portforward from the router page it is impossible for me to open ports to the server. Any help is appreciated, either enabling portforwarding on the router or page or getting the devices to be listed online. Thanks1.1KViews0likes0CommentsHow to set up port forwarding to an IP address instead of a 'discovered' device.
I have several complaints about how dumbed down the user interface is for the settings on the CGN4141. The biggest problem is the port forwarding. I have a Cisco 1921 that sits behind the CGN4141 and I need to port forward to static NATs I have built on the Cisco 1921. Since this brain numbingly simplified device can only port forward based on MAC address, I can't accomplish what I need to. Anyone know how to get around this? IE 1.1.1.1, 1.1.1.2, 1.1.1.3 share mac address 00:00:00:00:00:01, Cox only sees00:00:00:00:00:01 and keeps changing the IP address.489Views0likes0CommentsWhy does it show router as a connected device?
Arris TG1682G gateway for panoramic WiFi showed a device connected calledArrisTG1682G, device type - router, host name contains part of default WiFi network name but I don’t know what hostname is and that number isn’t anywhere on the gateway thing. Also the MAC address is same as hostname and nowhere on the gateway. My husband paused it because he didn’t know what it was and thought someone was on our network or we got hacked.1.1KViews0likes2Comments
