Frequent bursts of internet outages. 5 - 10 second outages. Using the Arris Panoramic.
So Ive been having issues with the new Panoramic that was just installed. My internet just keeps dropping service and I have no idea why. I checked the event log and this is what it saw. Cox.e-mail not working for two weeks nows. Outlook had trouble connecting to server at one point, not it connects with outlook but does not download the e-mail . I have to go to web main to do it. At the random times the e-mails are finally downloaded. Hello, I have the weirdest issue here. I have Cox internet 300mbs down- but it only works if there are no cell phones in the house. The internet is super fast, but when a cell phone is in the house the signal will go in and out. If the phones that are in the house are in Airplane mode the internet works perfectly- but as soon as you take them off airplane mode it will start to drop in and out. If the phones are on the wifi and in airplane mode it works... just when there is a cell signal in the house. I have even tried using a modem that is a "modem only" with no router and just hardwire it to the PC- it's brand new, but when I turn my phone off airplane mode it cuts in and out. I don't know what to do... this is such a weird issue that Cox has been out a few times and can't solve it. They have tried to clean the lines and we have replaced the modem 3 times- I just went out and got another one and it doesn't work. With the current policy of data caps I decided to track my usage at the router level. I just checked my cox account and from start of my billing cycle to yesterday (6-26-17 thru 7-11-17) states I have used 205 GB. When I check my router Netgear r7000 that I started tracking a day before my billing cycle to today (6-25-17 thru 7-12-17) states I used only 187GB. That is a discrepancy of 18GB! I would not care normally but since it is now policy to charge if and when we go over 1TB, this phantom data can be a means to charge overages. I highly disagree with any data caps in principle and function but if you choose to institute a cap then I expect it to be accurate. I want to know what Cox's stance on the accuracy on the data meter and discrepancies when I track my own. I would attach screen captures but your forum is too lackluster to properly insert. I'm currently outside of the US, and I need to pay my Internet Cox bill soon. I tried signing in, but when it asks me for the last 4 digits of my social security number, there's an error after I entered it in. I tried waiting and resetting my password, but nothing worked. I currently have the up to 100Mbps package with Cox but my speeds never seem to get even remotely to that speed. I can usually get 20-25Mbps on a wired connection using a router, but roughly 4-5 times a day the speed drops dramatically down to 5 Mbps or lower. Sometimes it will go down as low as >1Mbps and become pretty much unusable for streaming or gaming, which are the main reasons I have the service. Other times my modem will lose connection and the internet will drop completely. I do not have any issues with the modem or router, it is definitely on Cox's end. I'm not as concerned about reaching top speed as I am getting usable speeds for streaming and gaming on a consistent basis. I have been having multiple connection timeouts while using my service, usually happening every 5 minutes. I can't enjoy my online gaming for more than that time without being disconnected from the servers. I have tried everything from unplugging the modem for a few minutes then plugging it back in, having the modem's power go directly into the power outlet, replacing the rental modem that I was using with a newer and faster one, being directly hardwired into the modem and not using the router, changing DNS servers, and flushing the DNS. Cox even sent a "technician", though he was only contracted, to my home to check my wires. He said everything looked fine. Yet the problem persists. This problem has been going on for more than year now and I'm extremely frustrated and just lost on what else to do. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am100% rated through the VA,I talked with the cox loyalty people back in June about my bill going up to $84 dollars.They fixed it to go back to $71 dollars starting in June.My ? is why do I pay taxes on my acct?
