Auto-Tune to HD doesn’t work
I do not know when this tatted, but relatively recently, my contour cable has stopped auto/tuning to HD. I knew about the setting and it randomly disappeared, I was looking for it because I was trying to turn it back on because I assumed it was turned off. I searched it up and learned they renamed it to “Prefer Best Available Resolution”, I checked the setting and it had been on the whole time but it still doesn’t work. An example of this is when I use voice commands to say a channel name, and it will take me to the standard definition version instead of the high definition version (i.e. saying “TV Land” will take me to Channel 58, not Channel 1058). When it automatically went to the HD Channel variant, it used to also say “auto tuning to HD Channel” or something similar to that. Another example is when I’m trying to look at a TV show to see if it’s on currently, and if I click “watch” it takes me to the standard definition channel (i.e. If I click “watch” so I can watch Seinfeld on TBS, it shows channel 49, not 1049. One thing I also just noticed is that it says “49 TBSHDP”, which I always assumed that the HD was meant to represent “Hight Definition”, but if 49 is high definition, then what is the point of 1049? Automatically switch to channel after you set reminder
Hi, There used to be a function in pre-HDTV set top boxes regarding reminders about a program start. If there was a program starting in the future that you wanted to be sure to watch, you could set a reminder that would give you a message, and then switch to the programs channel, and it would even turn the set top box on so if your TV was on you began seeing the program. Does that function still exist in the new HDTV set top boxes? Or is there some function or combinations of functions that accomplish what I want? Regardless of which channel we select, the INFO feature stays on 104 IDHD. Makes navigating through channels a bit more difficult, unless we use the Guide every time. It would be nice to see which channel we are on as we go through the channels, or check the INFO feature independently to see what is on a specific channel. Example:If the TV is on channel 43 and you select INFO - it shows 104 IDHD and only tells you what is currently on that channel. Advance to channel 44 and it shows that you just went to 104 IDHD and tells you whatis currently on 104 IDHD. Just started this morning. Did a self-test on our mini-box and reprogrammed the channels, but no luck. Tried to do an online chat, but if you take more than a few seconds to respond they disconnect your session - real helpful. It looks like we lost several channels we've always had when I installed the Mini Box. We lost SYFY and Animal Planet. When I go to those channels I get an M3.1.4 error. I checked the connections. Minibox Remote Problem
I went through the minibox activation process without any issues. I hooked the minibox up to a fairly new Samsung TV and went through all the steps. Everything was straightforward and simple. Then I tried to sync the new remote up to the TV and that's where I've had problems. I had no trouble finding the right Samsung code and the remote behaved just as the instructions said it should. (I tried all of the Samsung codes.) But that's where everything stopped. The new remote will turn the TV on, I can adjust the volume and I can mute, but that's it. When the TV is hooked up to the minibox it's stuck on the same channel it was on when I began the process. I can't change channels with the arrows or by entering the channel number. I can't access the COX channel, Guide or Info. with the new remote. But when I detach the minibox and go back to a direct cable connection to the TV everything works as it did before. I don't know if the new remote is defective or if there is a more complicated issue. My daughter and I went to start our morning routine with a little Sprout TV and the channel isn't on the guide anymore. In Southern California it is channel 342, and the guide skips from 340 to 345. I asked before about why can't cox get Korean TV. Looks like only Spanish is the only international TV Cox cares for. Well time is up so I guess I will be switching to satellite TV cause they have Korean Channels. I think Cox needs to check how many Koreans are in Las Vegas and how many other people love watching Korean TV.
