TV channels
Half of the tv channels we pay for will not come in, we get nothing but a black screen, other channels always say temporarily off air. We have had a tech come out and the channels came in for about 24 hours after that it was back to the same problem. Anyone have any idea what the cause of this is.1.1KViews0likes1Comment
All Digital Conversion
I was under the impression that if I had a digital television that I would be able to get digital stations on the television without having to have a "BOX" of any kind? I read the information about the "MINI BOX" and decided that I would not need it for my digital television. My interpretation was that if you had an old analog television you would need the mini box. In the previous version of my cable, Cox Contour, I was able to designate channels to skip while "surfing" channels (i.e., using the channel up and channel down buttons). As a result of this feature, the channels I had selected to skip did not come up while surfing. In the new Contour 2, this feature seems to be missing. There only seems to be an option to set a "favorites" list in the Guide but I don't surf channels via the guide; I like to use the channel up and channel down buttons as indicated earlier. Has anyone else noticed this obvious missing feature and/or figured out how to do what I'm asking? I can't believe that Cox would eliminate this feature purposely... Mini Box
So I have 3 tvs and they all have a dvr cable box, I have a tv in the kitchen that I just bought and I want it to get cable channels too. I just installed my mini box on Saturday, and it seemed to be working fine. I was able to access all the channels I could when the cable plugged straight into my TV. By Sunday, however, it only allows me to view a handful of channels. For example, the lowest channels I can view (and that show up on my channel guide) are 11, 17, 21, 22 and 77. So I have no access to CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc. I tried scanning for channels several times with no difference. I also had the box check itself for issues, but that came back fine. I even tried unplugging the box. I don't understand why it was fine yesterday, but now I can only access a few channels. I've noticed some people have had issues with the higher channels, but I have not seen anything yet about not having access to the channels under 20. It is unfortunate that Cox has found yet another way to control our viewing. After reading other replies to the forums, we are greatly disappointed that we will no longer be able to record a program on our own VCR. Cox will finally run themselves out of business. The new add on charge of a mini box giving them even more control over which channels you view is the final straw. I believe March 29th is the cut off date. If more customers will follow this protest, Cox would no longer be in business.2KViews0likes1Comment
channels cannot be selected
I have a few channels where I can't enter the channel number on the remote without the channel defaulting to 5. Among them here in RI are 94/1094 (Fox Business) & 47/1047(MSNBC). In each case I have to enter a channel number above or below and then arrow up or down to the desired channel. Before getting a cable box with DVR I could re-scan channels but now that's only possible with mini boxes. Resetting the cable box doesn't change anything. How do I fix it?1.8KViews0likes1Comment
