NOMOROBO STOPS UNWANTED ILLEGAL ROBO CALLS - WHY DOES COX NOT OFFER THIS FEATURE?
Cox Communications does not listen to its customers I have been one over for over 25 years and they will not listen to me or anyone on this issue. I suspect once they see this thread they will immediately lock it so that the thousands of customers who have a problem with robo calls (for which cox offers ancient non working solutions) cannot comment. Cox claims they cannot offer "Simultaneous Ring" which they can but simply refuse to do, if they tell you anything to the contrary its complete fiction. Every other voip company has it and all of them also offer nomorobo so that the calls we get from India etc. are blocked. Cox will say "sign up for the national do not call list". That will not work for you because the calls are from outside the USA. Cox knows this but does not care they just spew garbage at us. Cox will also say they have selective call blocking (they charge for this feature) and you can block up to 30 numbers or some nonsense. That also will not work even if you could block unlimited numbers you would get the same amount of robo calls always from a different number so here we can establish that cox is not consumer focused they are revinue focused they want to sell us a feature that does not even work. COX Corporate customer service was not helpful either they spew the same garbage at us. Now COX, do what you do best and lock this thread. Hide your heads in the sand like ostriches. Contour 2 Caller ID time displayed on screen
The caller ID Contour 2 displays on screen does not state remain on screen very long. On the older contour there was a setting for 10 seconds, 30 seconds etc. How can i change this? Contour 2 seems a step backwards to me. Menus are slower, organization of the menu structure is confusing, frequently used items are buried deep in the menu structure. We receive 5-15 calls a day where the caller ID is a city and state only, and sometimes just The Hartford (up to three times a day). No one is ever there or leaves a message. I have tried to answer to find out who they are, but no answer, just empty air. I ignore them, but it is a time waster and interrupter and leaves us scrambling when it is a wanted caller. Most calls are daytime/evening. They come from all over the country, NV, CA, FL, SD and most common is CT where we are located. Is this a condition of internet phone, spamming, robo calls? For Caller ID my phone only shows a name. How can I get it to show the phone number of the caller?
When I get calls my phone only shows a name, but no phone number. The name is often wrong, and some times I need to call back but don't have the phone number. i know i can go into the Cox portal and look at recent calls, or edit the name there. Does anyone have multiple phone lines and phone numbers in there house and have both numbers display incoming caller info on TV screen Only 1 of my phone numbers caller info is,displayed and I'm pretty sure it use display caller info for both numbers before any help would be great4KViews0likes2Comments
Unwanted calls, robo calls, etc
I have been reading many comments from people who are co thmplaining about unwanted calls and how to stop them. Many people are registered with the DNS (myself included) and this is not working for anyone. There is a really easy solution which I am surprised nobody has even mentioned. My phone announces whomever is calling by voice, caller ID, etc. If it is someone I know I can answer it. If it is someone that I do not recognize but when they start to leave a message and I do want to talk to this person then again I answer it. In this way I am not talking to sales persons or scammers. END OF THE PROBLEM. A very easy solution to a never ending problem. I always have said that if someone wants to talk to me they will leave me a message and if not then just hang up like to many of these callers always do anyway. Calller ID does not show the correct name of person calling
Anytime I call from my cell phone to any Cox customer including my former Cox account the name that shows ts not me but my EX wife, The number was associated with a cox account years ago but was never in her name and the CNAME and directory listing are all correct in my name. THis happened automatically. I can control what my caller ID shows on other people Caller ID. My cell carrier is sprint and my bill in my name and always has been. How can this be changed and who can changed it if I cam not a current cox customer. Please post a solution here on your forums since this has been asked before in the past and you ( the forum ) offered no solution.. I suspect that COX has not updated with this phone number in their database. Calling customer service has not helped since I am not a cox customer anymore.4KViews0likes2Comments
