Cox service is making me lose my hair!!!
UPDATE 2/7: today the internet went out andas usual it happened in the same time like before. UPDATE 2/6: so I had a tech come in on Thursday [2/4] to look at the "issue" and they said that it was the POE filter and the splitter that was installed on the main line that's causing the disconnections. They said it was not up to spec with their network. Okay so they replaced it with their own as well as replaced the coax cables that's connected from the outlet to my modem. Today [2/6] I've now experienced a disconnection for 10 mins instead of a mere 1-2 mins prior to this "fix". So I pretty much spent $100 of my money just to get a worse network experience. I, and others in my household, rely on your network 24/7 not just for leisure but also for workand cannot have interruptions this severe. I am now contemplating on reporting this to the FCC the more issues I experience. I've been having issues everyday at the same timeframe with my gigablast. I've never had an issue before but so far it has started on the 2nd week of January to now and it had only worked without issue for two days straight last week.. My network connection would cut off multiple times around 11am-2pm everyday and whenever I ask assistance they would always tell me that they'll send out a tech to check my connection. I've factory reset my modem and router a million times, switched over to another coax port in the house, have tried having a direct connection from the main line to one coax port (no splitter), I've done having direct connection to the modem and all these steps have not resolved the issue. The website says that there are no outages, maintenance, service interruptions whatsoever but there clearly is. It seems Cox isn't as responsive unless it about bill pay. Customer Support would always pull a "let's have a tech come in to check your connection", no my connection isn't the issue, the residents in the vicinity is having the issue andCox doesn't seem to understand that. I've asked multiple times to check the main line that goes in our area but no one is sent to check it. There are multiple reports even on Downdetector of the same issue I'm experiencing.3.4KViews1like14Commentsnot being able to access cox wifi app or browser
I have been trying to access the cox wifi app or wifi.cox.com through the browser. I want to do this so I can access my wifi settings, Including port forwarding. This is what I get when I attempt to access the website. - Please Give Us a Call Sorry, there is a bit more we need to do to get you up and running with Panoramic Wifi. Call us at 1-800-234-3993, and we will get you squared away. To be clear, I AM able to enter my CORRECT username and password after I enter it displays this message. When I attempt to log into my account on the main cox.com website and the cox app everything works fine. I have been having this problem since I moved in last July and every time I call it's either "the website is down for support" or some other excuse. Only about two weeks ago was I told that this issue has been reported by others and it would be looked into.... two weeks ago after many months. I am tired of having to reexplain my issue with customer service which is why I'm making this post. Also worth noting is that when I look at "My account" and "manage wifi" on the main cox website it shows this - It looks like you are using a modem that is not compatible with Panoramic Wifi. Panoramic Wifi is available to customers who rent an eligible gateway.Upgrade Now. But I definitely have the router that supports cox panoramic wifi because it's the same that I had before I moved here.Technicolor CGM4141is what I have now and had before. wifi.cox.com and the cox wifi app worked prior to my move. It might be worth noting that there were issues because I had canceled my last account during my move and I don't entirely understand how it was resolved, I think maybe I have a new account number now. But I have wondered if that could be a contributing factor to these issues.1.9KViews0likes2CommentsNew modem is still getting constant T3 and Dynamic Range Window violation errors
Equipment: OLD Netgear CM1200 (bought in 2020) Google Nest Wifi and Access Point (bought in 2021) TPLink 5 port switch NEW Arris SB8200 (purchased yesterday) Since the beginning of December 2022 my 2 year old NetGear CM1200 had been disconnecting daily between 6am-9am and every single day I had to physically reset the modem since the COX app and chat support couldn't reset it remotely. COX chat claimed it was my 27 devices connected to Wifi (I had the ultimate plan) and that I needed to upgrade to the Gigablast. Conveniently the Gigablast plan was on a deal that was $5 less than the Ultimate so I upgraded, same issue. I had a technician finally come out a couple days ago and he checked EVERYTHING. He checked the following with the following results Checked the connection to the CM1200, speeds on Gigablast was about 430mbps download and 27 upload. Disconnected the router and modem, connected directly to the Coax cable from the wall, speeds were then 830mbps download and 36 upload. Tested 10,000 packets and none were lost. Checked the network hub in the laundry room that came with the house (I don't use it since I don't have a switch in there), he saw there was a MoCA connection (I believe?) where the outside network Coax line was connected to the office coax line (which my modem was connected to) so he disconnected them and tested the connection to the outside network. The test results were 830mbps download and 36 upload.Tested 10,000 packets and none were lost. He went outside to check the network box on the side of my house and confirmed there is no splitter and that it's a direct connection, he tested the connection and the speeds were the same as inside.Tested 10,000 packets and none were lost. He went to the utilities box and tested the line there, he tested 10,000 packets and none were lost. Speeds were the same as in the house. All tests were normal. Ultimately he said that my modem was "likely" the problem and that I should try a new one to see if things improve. I purchased the Arris SB8200 yesterday, I chatted with Cox to activate it around 2pm and everything was good until 2am when my Google Nest Wifi notified me that the internet went out for 30 mins. I haven't had any outages since 2am so I checked the logs and it looks the same as the CM1200 logs were.968Views0likes11Comments7+ years of summer internet issues and packet loss in Sahuarita/85629.
Question(s): Is there a way to request an inspection / audit / health check of the neighborhood infrastructure? Does having IP addresses help narrow down potential locations? Is there a way to better seal or enclose equipment? I never had these issues over 10 years in the PHX area... and it is an objectively harsher environment for electronic survivability. I'm happy to help be part of the solution for myself and my neighbors… just let me know what I can do. However, having a tech come out to my house and start this debug dance for the 7th year in a row is just going to waste everyone's valuable time yet again. History: Entering year 7 of having summer internet issues. Always at or around monsoon season. Every year I am told that it must be my equipment. Every year a tech gets sent out at least once. Usually multiple times. Every year it takes 30-60 days of back and forth to resolve. It has always been cox equipment somewhere in the neighborhood. I work from home, and find this extremely frustrating. Every year I start all over again like bad internet groundhog day… explaining the history, potential issues, and following the same path of a tech at my door measuring MER and BER. It has never been my equipment… marginal improvement in performance gains. If I had any other reasonable option for internet service at my house, I'd have exercised it years ago. Issue: Here we are again… I was hopeful that maybe things would be different this year. However, there was broad outage in the 85629 area on 06/22/22 from around 0900-1200 AZ. After which, outbound packet loss has been intermittent accompanied by low upload speeds. This morning, my upload speeds have been abysmal. 1Mbps up to around 5Mbps. My normal upload speed is consistently ~35Mbps. Along with that, I am seeing significant packet loss. Outbound packet loss has been anywhere from 3-30%. Inbound speeds are moderately lower than normal, and I am not seeing significant inbound packet loss. Troubleshooting: 1. I've rebooted the router and modem multiple times. 2. I'm using hardwired devices, and have swapped between multiple ethernet cables. CAT5e and CAT6 on the off chance it would do anything. (I knew it wouldn't) 3. I've gone through 2 different routers, flashed the firmware of both routers, and gone direct through the modem. 4. I've used multiple computers to ensure the behavior is not limited to a single computer. 5. Still seeing the same results. Pathping: Shows no packet loss between computer and router, or router and modem. In fact, the first problematic node is 10.97.200.1 … I'm guessing the neighborhood switch, or other infrastructure. Followed immediately by 100.127.78.150, and 100.120.100.40. Ping Plotter confirms pathping's results. My neighbor across the street (who I share a tap with) sees the same frequent issues. One of my other neighbors a few blocks over is unaffected. 0% packet loss, and I believe they were unaffected by the outage on 06/22/22. Boosting my outbound power by adding attenuators has historically shown some level of improvement. 8-12dB has been the sweet spot, but isn't making a difference right now. Hypothesis: I'm going take a wild guess, and say that either the Wednesday worksite was not buttoned up properly after work finished, or another area has significant water ingress after recent monsoon rains. As the day has progressed (and the area potentially dries out), upload speeds and packet loss have improved. Twice now, the summer monsoons have flooded repair sites that were not properly sealed up. Occasionally, packrats get into equipment, and cause havoc.591Views0likes0CommentsCould you stop sending me Data Notices for cycles that have ALREADY ENDED
I get it. I use about a TB of data a month. I don't need to be notified on or AFTER the last day of my billing cycle. You're clearly batching an email alert to be sent out the next day, so please add a minimum days left in cycle to stop these incessant and useless emails.391Views0likes1CommentUpload Speed Dropping Multiple Days.
Hello, So me and my wife have been having the issue with our internet where our upload speed just drops and I'm not talking like -3mbps I'm talking our Upload speed will be at like 30mbps and then drop to 2.0mbps. We both game and that's not an issue since out Download Speed has been pretty good usually 800mbps. The issue is we both tend to stream but we cant stream on a 2mbps upload speed if anything we need a 10mbps upload speed. This is also interfering with my wife's work as well since she needs at least a 11mbps upload speed for work. Also we are Hard Wired and the router is a Nighthawk AX6 and the Modem is a Surfboard 3.1. Both really good Pieces of hardware. Before we used the Router Modem provided by Cox and it used to work great but all of a sudden we have been getting drops in our internet for the past 2 years since getting our own hardware since we were already paying so much just to get internet. I've Called Multiple Times to help fix the issue and I'm always just given the run around. I call Cox they say its nothing wrong in their system they transfer me over to Arris and they tell me its not their system to check Netgear and then they tell me its not their hardware and the cycle continues. I just need help this is getting out of hand and we are paying a lot of money for the internet only for it not to work. Has anyone else had issues with their upload speed just dropping? If so what did you do to fix it? When I got the new router it was running great but then we just get those random Upload Speed drops that last for a week then we have good internet for 2 days then it drops again. If someone could help please and thank you and if not I do appreciate you taking the time to read this. For the record we have the Gigablast plan and yes the router is up to date with updates and yes I've tried resetting it and also factory resetting the router and still not working.831Views0likes2CommentsWhy did my Outlook 2007 (POP) email client stop working?
