Solution to Cox Port Forwarding!
The solution is there is no solution. As of Fri., May 22, 2020, Cox has removed Port Forwarding from their Panoramic routers and apparently have placed it on wifi.cox.com. The thing is there is absolutely NOWHERE on that site, under your account where Port Forwarding exists. Download the app? It's the exact same thing. It's 100% removed. Want to discuss it with Cox? Guess what? You have to PAY $10.00/mo just to have the discussion. So to recap: Cox removes a perfectly-working feature and doesn't put it on the site it says to visit to operate it. Want to go further? You have to pay money to them just for the discussion. The Solution: Buy your own router where you'll have 100% control over your own settings without big brother monitoring your every move and telling you what you can and can't do.Solved43KViews0likes3CommentsWork From Home/Port Forwarding Issue
Hello! Recently my office is having everyone work for home a day or two out of the week to limit the number of people in the office because of COVID. I am having trouble accessing the database for the new ERP we are implementing. After adding my home IP address (it has not changed since they white listed it), I was told by their support to try the telnet command in command prompt to see if the port was blocked (It is not a part of the Cox blocked port list either). I am able to connect just fine when I am in the office (both with ethernet cable and on wifi), but when I go home it didn't work. So, after a little bit of research, I tried using port forwarding to gain access to the port, but it still has not worked. Does anyone have any ideas? Things I've tried: Having IP address white listed Restarting router Connecting with an ethernet cable Port forwarding Thank you in advance!11KViews0likes51Commentsport forwarding on wifi.cox.com
Is there any point to wifi.cox.com? It feels like i'm playing with this thing above every time I go to that site. Is it really just a Foursquare template password changer? I've navigated through every link on every tab and I cannot stress it enough: I feel like there is literally nothing on that website except a list of devices, and the ability to change your network password. What the f**k kind of cr*p is this? I want to configure a DNS server, and i was told I had to go to wifi.cox.com and the whole interface is basically a college freshman's week 3 homework assignment.6KViews1like1CommentPanoramic Router Port forwarding
I have the Cox Panoramic router CGM4140COM. I switch plugged into ETH1, and a device plugged into ETH2. The device in ETH2 has a static IP address, and I can access it from the LAN. I can see it as a "Connected Device" in both the router, and wifi.cox.com OK so all that is good. I am having an issue when I go into port forwarding this device is not showing up in the drop down. I need to setup 2 ports. I have searched the forum, and not seeing an answer to this issue. I can call COX, but am I understand correctly that they want to charge to support THEIR router, and something that is obviously THEIR issue? Thanks4.7KViews0likes6CommentsPanoramic Port Forwarding
All the posts I see about this being resolved are 10-11 months old, and walk you through an option that doesn't seem to exist any longer. eg:https://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/25948/solution-to-cox-port-forwarding/101396#101396 I want to forward a port. It's so simple, has always been. Why does Cox mess something so simple up? "Now easier than ever"... I've got the panoramic app, trying to use HomeAssistant Cloud to connect to a local instance. I go to wifi.cox.com, and there's no option anywhere for any device to forward ports. $10 to talk about it on cox, as the other posts state. Staying on cox without port forwarding isn't even an option for me. Does anyone have a solution for this? What do they say when people pay and call in about it? Do they do it for you, so that way you *have* to pay?3.8KViews0likes5CommentsPort forwarding

I have seen posts about port forwarding before on the app or on wifi.cox.net but the "advanced" --> "port forwarding" option is nowhere to be found, even on the app, there is no option for it. Is there any way to set up port forwarding?2.3KViews0likes1CommentCox Gateway Port Blocking and macOS
I am trying to use VMware on my Mac to connect to my work VM. Every time I try to connect I get an error that the connection has timed out. If I use my iPhone as a hotspot instead of WiFiI can connect with no issues. Googled and found that it is probably blocked ports on the Cox side. I did set up port forwarding using the Cox WiFi app and I still can not connect. I have tried a bunch of different ports the last ones I tried are 443, 4172, 8443, and 22443.
