Upgraded to GIGA plus fiber now speed is 10x worse? any suggestions
We upgraded to Gigablast plus fiber with speed listed as 1000/2000. We are actually get 93 on a good day and 11 or even 7 .. Was told its not the equipment, and not the install, but no solution. Anyone else have this issue? and do you have any tips as COX keeps running us in circles and everytime we ask for help the speed gets worse.
Who here thinks the 1280GB cap is ludacrous?
How is it that the highest paying customers of the ultimate tier are limited to 1280GB per month? This cap should be at least 3TB if not lifted all together. In the world of online gaming and 4k media streaming this is abysmal. A single video game download is almost over 100GB these day. Cox needs to fix up if you want to retain your customers before something better comes along. Right now you're riding a wave because customers are stuck without better ISPs in certain areas of Orange County. Super annoyed with Cox. ðŸ˜
Upload Speeds on Gigablast Account???
I recently "upgraded" to Gigablast from my former Ultimate/Unlimited account. Even before the upgrade, which only seemed to last for 24 hours then back to unusable upload speeds, the upload speed was typically 200ish Kilobytes/second to 1.5mbps. These upload speed make it impossible to play video games like Destiny or to upload gameplay videos to YouTube. I have been with Cox for about 11 years and this issue has been consistent. I have had multiple technicians come and tell me the problem is fixed then the next day it is right back to sub 1mbps upload speeds. 1 Gigabit download is useless if the upload speed is so slow it makes many internet-based activities unusable.YouTube Content Creator, Desperate for Fiber Optic Internet in Tucson Arizona ZIP 85641
Hello, Like the subject reads i am in desperate need for Fiber Optic Internet. I am a YouTuber with over 1.6 million subscribers. I recently moved to Tucson AZ to be close to family. I did not realized my channel will take such a huge jump in numbers. I find myself streaming more and more and my current Speeds are not good enough. 940 Down 35 Up. Is there any way i may be able to get fiber to my house or do i need to move to an area where the service is already provided. I have looked around with my team but is very difficult to call time after time to customer service to check for availability. I have tried the website but the site wont show services to New Homes or Homes iunder construction. PLEASE Help I will be doing a video review on this... THX
Cox Gigablast is awful
I have had nothing but problems since "upgrading" to Gigablast. I have an AC5400x MU-MIMO Tri-Band Gaming Router and an ARRIS SB8200 modem. I am currently using Cox rented Panoramic modem because I was trying to troubleshoot my speeds (the modem was not the issue). I receive the same speeds using a Cox rented modem. Tonight I can't do anything on the internet because my download speed is at 10mbps...yup... ONE ZERO (10). Gigablast says speeds up to 980mbps download. I know I probably won't get near that but this is ridiculous. Since upgrading my speeds have consistently been between 100-480mbps. Even in the dead of night at 3-4am nothing higher than 500mbps. I am going to have a tech come out to my house and see what they say. If they say I'm receiving gigabit speeds from the street I'm going back to Cox's Ultimate package cause Gigablast is trash. https://imgur.com/a/awdAlcQ
Gigablast only getting ~600 Down
Upgraded this week and I am using the provided panoramic modem from cox. [Docsis 3.1] Drop from road directly to the modem no splitters. This is confusing because i'm the only user on my street with internet.... [rural area] [Upload is 35 which is what it is supposed to be] All connections are strictly Ethernet. Gigablast in Pensacola, FL
I was excited to see that Gigablast was finally available in my area (Pensacola, Florida). I get 300 down or so with the Ultimate package, so I was excited to see what I'd get with Gigablast. I went and bought a new Arris SB8200 modem, headed home, and called Cox to make the change. They wouldn't honor the $99 price I saw online, so I ended upgrading myself online for the special deal that was displayed when I logged in, and then called back to activate the new modem. Once everything was ready to go, I connected to the Internet and did a Speedtest. 180 down. Wait, what? I got 300 down previously. Just minutes ago. So the Cox rep asked me to power cycle the modem and my networking equipment (my wifi is Eero Pro 802.11ac mesh network and works very well). After doing all that, we got worse results. It was late and I said I'd call back the next day if the issues continued. Today I went and took back the Arris SB8200 modem to Best Buy and bought a Netgear CM1000 instead - just for giggles to see if it'd work any better. So, I called Cox, had the rep activate the new modem, installed it, restarted everything, ran Speedtest and... 82 down. Are you kidding me?!? The rep actually said to me "Please give the modem a while to work. Sometimes it takes them a while to come online fully." I just started laughing and said I'd call back. Now, I've supposedly got Gigablast, but I'm getting worse speeds than I got on Ultimate. I've tried 2 different modems, different coax lines, different Cat 6 cable, using wifi and not using wifi, etc. Still sucky speeds. AT&T is coming soon with their stuff and it's looking much more attractive now...
