Why is Cox not offering the OANN channel to it's customers;.
I'm happy they don't offer OANN. It's trash. In fact, I don't have cable because I don't want the $2-$3 broadcast fee going to Fox News either.
Fox News wouldn't get a broadcast fee because Fox News isn't a broadcast station.
Again, what is the FCC directly imposing onto the consumer? I'm not sure why you introduced "FCC broadcast channels regulations." What regulation imposes a fee onto us?
Is Cox "affected by FCC broadcast regulations." Yes. Does the FCC charge Cox? Yes, Does Cox recoup its loss from us. Yes. Does the FCC allow Cox to recoup its loss from us? Yes. I don't dispute this. I just don't understand why you originally wrote it.
I wrote the fee isn't "gov't mandated" onto us. Meaning, it's not regulated and highly arbitrary. Or was your original point even about fees?
the regulation that says COX must pay to carry a channel, be it broadcast or cable. If they pay, YOU pay.
So your point was Cox has to pay FNC, and Cox recoups its $2-3 from us? Great! Thanks for chiming in.
Do you think that any business is going to pay for something and give it away for free? GREAT! Thanks for chiming in!
That would be the business...and not the FCC. Nobody was even discussing business practices or recoupment. You just tossed in FNC isn't affected by broadcast regulations. Really? Nice nugget to know. You probably don't even know why you posted it and had to meander down some irrelevant path.
