Tv sound

I have a new contour box and now the sound requires me to go to 60 to hear the words. I have seen where someone says turn off Dolby on contour box, but I have no idea how to do this. My tv does not have Dolby on. The old box I could adjust the sound on the contour box. Confused. Please provide exact instructions.

It reads like the new Contour box is configured to decode the audio data as an advanced format, such as Dolby Digital and 5.1 Sound.  If you're just listening through TV speakers, you only need 2-channel stereo.

Contour button > gear icon > Device Settings > Audio > HDMI Audio Output

...select the first option, Stereo (Audio will be output in stereo (PCM)).

I'd then check the audio setting on your TV.  Ensure it too is just Stereo, PCM, no external speakers, no advanced processing, etc.

To adjust the TV volume with the Contour remote, you'll need to "pair" the Contour remote with your TV set.  To get started, provide the make and model of your TV set.

This helped a lot and it worked!   Your wording is exactly what I needed.  Thanks!

Is your Contour remote controlling your TV volume?
