First I've been back here for a year or so, it seems to have disappeared... Any ways, looking at my call history that I monitor daily, I often see multiple numbers as having been dialed from here, within seconds or simultaneously, with a duration of 0 seconds. I wonder if my number is being used by spammers.Also, unrelated, but my caller ID only works on my Panasonic phones about half the time. Any ideas?

From your house? If a spammer has been spoofing your telephone number, the spoofs wouldn't record on your Cox Call History. The spoofs would record on the spammer's system, which is probably a private network.
Do you have a home security system?
I'm assuming you're saying your Caller ID on TV isn't working? If not, what else has Caller ID? Did you upgrade your equipment to support Cox Voice (VoIP)? This was started a few years ago but maybe your area is now transitioning.

I don't have tv through Cox, caller ID is only on the phones. These random numbers only show up on the call history, not on the dialed number history of the Panasonic phones. No security system, faxes, or phone modems. Cox Voice was implemented here about a year or so ago.
These random numbers are supposedly numbers you've dialed from your house? Do you recognize the numbers? Do you have Simultaneous Ring or Call Forwarding enabled on your Cox account? You'd need to log into your Cox account and review your Phone preferences.
Also, while you're in your Cox account, you could try resetting your DOCSIS-eMTA. There's a feature in your account to do this.
I don't know why I'm explaining the how-to's because you obviously log into your Cox account daily.
I don't recognize any of the numbers. I'm going to go back through my call history for a month to see if their is anything common, a few seem to be at the same time a valid call is dialed. I've rebooted the modem, just not remotely yet. I'll give that a try later. The more symptoms the better when troubleshooting...up to a point!
Every time you dial out, simultaneous numbers are also dialed? That is weird. I think it's a glitch on Cox.
A reboot just reboots the same configuration. A reset from your account reloads the configuration. A re-provision is Cox recreating your account.
You can lookup numbers at this URL. Enter the first 3 digits in NPA and the second 3 in NXX.

It seems the worst thing to happen to POTS is moving it to the Internet. Perhaps our antiquated telephones are just remnants of POTS.
I thought NANPA used to have a lookup tool for the first 6 six digits, but I couldn't find it yesterday. Perhaps I imagined it.

Say what you want about analog but it sounded better and worked during power outages.
I too am very familiar with the NANP site. I routinely download their NPA and Allutlzd reports.
No disagreement about analog's advantages. Just think, all these companies so invested in VOIP for their whole communication needs, still need an analog line to report outages, or a cell phone.
The reset seems to have fixed the inbound caller id issue! With one or two exceptions, I think the culprit of the outbound calls is my wife not paying attention when dialing. She's legally blind but still trying, so I gotta forgive her.
